At 10:00 AM, the FTSE 100 Index was up by 57.56 at 8438.91 points, a movement of 0.69%, showing a modest rise in the market.

Spirax-Sarco (SPX) was a well traded share, with approximately £1,069.4m (0.159%) worth of shares changing hands.

Overall, 86.00% of the companies in the FTSE 100 Index were up, and 14% were down; giving a positive outlook of the day so far.

Investors favourites include Glencore (GLEN) which rose 2.44%, Vodafone (VOD) rising 2.26% and Antofagasta (ANTO) which increased 2.20%. The majority of rising shares came from the Retailers and Personal Care sector(s).

Some of the losing shares were Rightmove (RMV) which fell -5.69%, London Stock Exchange (LSEG) losing -0.79% and Smurfit Kappa (SKG) which dropped -0.64%. Most of the falling shares came from the Software and Computing, Real Estate Services and Finance Services sector(s).
