Don't think they expected the constant slow rise so need shares to sell on... still expecting 152 into close... or monday.

SME's need FCH as banks have closed down lending so profits look likely to keep going while the war keeps interest rates from dropping further.

will be happy to take 165 later this month.

It was touching the mid 150's for all of about 45 seconds this morning first thing. The the algo's got hold of this. 140 seems like good value. The buybacks just need to kick off again as they'd slowed to a halt. It's like the chosen broker is choosing to help out the hedge funds!

Nice to have an opinion but not really true. divs just drop the price the same day so doesn't do much at all, just a temp. cash back, unless the sp is going to recover.

buybacks reduce the shares available... take 10% out of the available shares and you have 10% increase in value. you don't see it in a day, like a div, but it's there, all the same.

but horses for courses... personally, think divs are the same irrelevance as you think buybacks are.

regardless, sp will approach 150 by next week... and, already, the bigger buys are coming in.

Kat..Buybacks make zero difference,but instead,if a dividend was announced, that would make for SP going upwards...Buybacks are money wasted.

Get the traders out, keep the buybacks going and see 175 in a month...
