This sounds interesting. Social media helped save Bletchley Park. Perhaps those of us who have accounts online can drop the occasional post and engage in conversation.

I only usually hit up people for donations to pcrf . org . uk - and I noticed this morning that the survival rate is up to 5-8%. Far better than last year when it was still under 4%.

No one in my family has had pancreatic cancer yet, though several have had other cancers which has taken the lives of six of my relatives. A highly regarded piano teacher who had it made a lasting impression, probably amplified by the number of celebrities who passed due to it.

Through some cursory Googling I found out how little attention is paid to pancreatic cancer. At the time of the EIS, there was only 1 research post in the UK looking into it. I supported a blockchain project which was looking to change the way research projects are funded, and I'm hoping at some point their managers pull together to move it forward.

It's exciting to think that their discovery could have huge implications. For me anything which helps sufferers heal is good.

I'm very glad to see that even though many research projects are starved of cash that scientists are still working hard to find better solutions. My "first contact" with pancreatic cancer was 20 years ago. Until I heard of Scancell's work, I assumed that there was no cure. Over the past few years I've been thinking that if we could solve the pancreatic "riddle" in a way which caused less harm to people, that both the treatment and survival would provide a better quality of life than many have now.

First of all, I wanted to say hello to everyone - I've been following your discussions for a couple of years after I invested in Scancell as part of an EIS fund raising. I've been hopeful that the value of their work would be appreciated around the globe.

My initial interest was pancreatic cancer. I randomly find "stuff" on the internet, like this article, which makes me hopeful that there will be breakthroughs which will increase the 3% survival rate 3 years ago much higher than the current under 5% survival rate. Apologies for not posting this here early December - it's been rather hectic for me. I haven't seen it posted in the interim, apologies if I missed it.
