Diageo Share Price (DGE)

Looks like Warren Buffett made another good call dumping these dogs, wish I had.

An acquisition with £22,000,000,000 of debt? Can't see that happening. Selling Guinness would be a real shame. The real problem is funding this debt. I don't understand why the previous Ceo thought that was a good idea to grow debt to those levels. Anyone know what they got for the money? New factories abroad?

Guess Ill be holding my shares for quite a while yet. I wonder what Guiness could be worth if sold or floated off? Nothing would surprise but yes I expect more disposals & would not be that surprised by an aquisition afterall DL has prior form at Tesco.

Surely best to stay well clear because of the numerous headwinds, the chief of which is the horrendous debt. I don't understand why anyone would take the risk of buying individual shares. The younger generation have cottoned on, with ETFs being the popular investment route these days. But a world index and just relax is surely the sensible way.

I'd rather they did a share placing rather than sell Guinness to reduce debt. Makes sense the div was cut then. Ok i'm gonna sit on the fence, until the debt position is more clear, or a sp drop to a p/e ratio that might tempt me in.
