Something of a recovery at VZC of late. Wish I could say the same about VOD!

BBC reporting a figure of $350M (£281M) discount on Verizon acquisition of Yahoo following data breach. Costs of lawsuits arising from latter will be shared by the two companies. The sale does not include Yahoo's stake in Chinese internet sales firm Alibaba.

From Seeking alpha Feb 19th 2017 VZC Shares are trading at a 42% discount to the overall market. Dividend has grown 3.6% annually over last ten years. High and sustainable dividend will support share price going forward. ChartMasterPro upward target price of $52.50. There's a great deal of pessimism surrounding Verizon (NYSE:VZ) and in my view that's a good thing. The only way you can acquire assets that are on sale is when other investors eschew the name for any number of reasons related to competition, lack of growth or a host of other issues. I think Verizon is a well run, shareholder friendly firm that is years if not decades away from redundancy. There might be some bumps along the road, but this valuation and this yield are too much to pass up at these levels.
