Shore Capital have issued an update - they note that this news is encouraging, since with inSignals and the recent Fieldwork Robotics news these are two companies which are additional to the six other portfolio companies which they expect to drive shareholder value in the nearer term.
They state FYI:
"The recent £4.4m equity fundraising will support FIPP’s goal to become self-sufficient We believe that FIPP is reaching the value realisation stage for its biggest holdings.
In our view, there are six that could be worth at least 20p per share each, with three having the potential to realise value in the next 12 months. The April €211m grant funding for 2D Photonics implied a value of 22p per share for FIPP at the time and there is the potential for a further VC funding round, in our view. We note also that Pulsiv was valued at £60m in its latest fundraising and that Alusid is planning an IPO on AIM in 2026.
As well as the opportunity to increase the NAV by the uplifts in further funding rounds and/or IPOs there is the potential for a trade sale of some of the portfolio companies in the next two/three years. In our view, in Signals like Fieldwork Robotics is likely to fit into the trade sale category, and the catalyst could be more of its technologies gaining regulatory approvals and becoming operational in due course. Indeed, we note that InSignals is currently undertaking a seed fundraising round to support the medical regulatory compliance and international expansion."
