Hi, sorry, can’t see dividend due anywhere, when is ex div date and payment date please? Thanks
Nice jump today. Juicy divvi soon.
Grayling
I share your pain with VOD, although for real suffering you should try MXC.
I like a utility, and can't at this time imagine my portfolio without a holding in NG.
My only concern with this stock is that Ofgen said they want to set up an independent entity that would debilitate National Grid. Will it ever happen and what compensation. Ok for a sell anytime from 805p but buying around 950 hoping for 1050 again well it might get there for how long?
any views on CMA decision? Good in part -lets see what market thinks.
In profit for the first time since I bought back 1/3 of what I have sold just over a month ago. Let's hope that there will be more rises tomorrow. Good luck everyone.
Might just prove profitable by Christmas.
Look at MMs back-peddling to hold this share down
All those ATs buying/selling 1/2 shares - WTF does that?
As LTH, sitting on small loss on SP(excluding all that Divi) tempted to add a few
Great value in this infrastructure
I'm just going to keep holding as its one of my defensive stocks.
is just what I decided to do. Bought a tranche @887.
LTE
I assume that reply you gave provided you with a sense of satisfaction.
Good for you.

''Cant see any news''
I saw no news since I sold a few on the 19th Aug.
Markets and individual shares go up and down on supply and demand.
NG wont benefit from this in the short term.
They will probably have to add some transmission capacity which will be rewarded in the price control system but that is way down the line.
Maybe it is a flight to safety.
I wonder if it has anything to do with this:
Britain announces biggest auction round in renewable energy scheme

Up over 2%. Cant see any news. Has there been a broker upgrade?
Remaining shares now valued at 49% above cost.
a small amount at a little under 978p - average on my remaining shares now 655p
I have held since 2013 and always reinvested the dividends I am now up 67.5% over the 8 years which is very nice all round. I wish I could say the same of all the shares in my portfolio with notable exceptions such as PHNX and AZN which have both done very well as LTH's. Current dog of dogs.............VOD mitigated only by my holding in Verizon which came when they went their separate ways.
I keep my trades in a spreadsheet but didn't used to date them. Pre dated would got back to before 2014, so probably around about 10 years.
Highest top slice sale price was at just under £10 on 31st March 2016 .
Only made a few part sales in all the time I have had NG.
Last purchase was at about 810p near the end of Feb this year.
Ticked up a little again today.
42% that's a fair time to hold national grid.
Must be close to a 10 year hold, something for us all to learn there.
Happy with my now 42% capital appreciation over the years bonus, on top of the great dividends that I have received. My personal yield on my cost is now at 7.25% - what is there not to like about National Grid as an investment
Well I'm guessing that most investors are fairly happy with progress here given the lack of chat.
I think the temptation is always to sell at these prices. However, I don't see many opportunities out there for low priced assets. Commodity stocks outside of oil seem fairly high.
Still room for further capital growth but I would not be expecting huge returns on capital at these levels but still worth it for a long term income stock.

Looking to invest here, as a sparky Western Power charge £65 to pull a fuse, a 5 min job! Anyway, a long long time ago I worked for BG before if turned into Transco, when only around 150,000 commercial businesses in the market that could swap suppliers (then called Shippers). Remember working on a project where Nissan was thinking of opening a plant in the NE and working out transportation costs for the gas supply. Haven’t got a clue on price caps but will be doing some digging before I put some money in.
Not the way it works.
The Ofgem price control works in a way that NG is not renumerated for encouraging energy consumption.
If the consumption is low in one year, the effective clawback comes in future years and vice versa).
The incentive is to enable supply and demand and the energy transition (links to offshore wind and interconnectors etc).
