Meanwhile, let's get on vaccinate asap as this is the only sure way out of this mess and a way back to normality. Cine should be insulated by this anyway for the next 2 months at least as cinemas are shut. I think in that time we will be well and truly beyond this state. Hopefully also he SP will be over 100 then. Meanwhile filter IDW like I have. Tiresome otherwise. ATB

Been a heck of a ride with cine so far. Have lost count of the number of times i've swung from profit to loss with this share!
But, I feel firmly we are on track for a steady return to a higher and more stable state. A hiccup in Jan due to more restrictions may happen but impact to cine will be mils as we're shut anyway. After that, once a good number of old folk have had the vaccine, we will be rewarded for risk taken.
Meanwhile, have a good Christmas and stay safe.

I really cannot see what your point is, apart from the fact you're still feeling quite smug you got lucky with Vodafone. It is pretty transparent you've sold and would rather like the price to drop so you can trade again. Fair play if that's your strategy. If your craving respect, just be upfront about your agenda. PanamaPete - agree - there is no suggestion that the new variant is any more deadly - and could even be less likely to cause severe disease. Restrictions will need to be in place until this can be worked out, but there is no reason at all to panic.
I've been at work all day so could not comment here, but did pick up some more shares at sub 220. Will do again if it dips further. We know this will rerate easily to 300 minimum as soon as rationality returns to the market. Not risk free, but a good bet IMO. This is not advice BTW, just my view. ATB

Are international oil companies. The situation with regards UK is but 1 factor. Panic sell if you wish, but IMO the SP will remain resilient. Vaccines are being rolled out and the new variant changes nothing in relation to this. Yes, it a bugger and short term will cause a spike in cases. In 3 to 4 months, this will be forgotten. Stay calm people. ATB

As others have pointed out. For the country we need a sentiment switch from current doom and gloom. I know Boris is full of bombastic hot air a lot of the time, but on this occasion I feel he is absolutely right about Easter being the point at which we will have moved to a more secure state. We just need to stay sensible and ensure those at risk are protected. Also means we need to allow the young who are not at risk, more freedom as otherwise they will do it by taking more risks. It's a bit like prohibition. Encourages higher risk activity. Youngsters are not stupid. They know the risk to them is low so they will meet pals. Now they have to do it in small spaces and in secret. Which carries more chance of spread.
Anyway, I could go on, but I'm going to stop ranting and get on with painting the walls....again!

The thing that is being overlooked is that the Oxford vaccine was 100% effective at preventing hospitalisation. This and deaths are the key figures and why I personally think the pandemic destruction will ease by Easter. Will take up to 2022 for the world to be immunised but for the UK, Easter will be the turning point. ATB and thanks for your excellent posts.

I've been investing since 2008, but have always used Barcs. Never had ant issues with Barclays regards receiving divis. Opened a t212 account more as a trading rather than investment platform but somehow ended up with a large chunk of shell here. Have held/added for 3 months so ex-div date is a non issue.
I guess, t212 hold onto your cash for longer, and hence they can offer commission free trading. Plus using your shares to loan out to shorters. No such thing as a free meal I guess!

Crumpets, agree. Jangho buying is an excellent sign. Previously they have sold at these levels so uptick potential must be there.
less transparent are GS - honestly what are they playing at? Jangho at least buy and sell their shares - GS are up and down with their financial instruments so often, you need to have OCD to keep track!

Back to BP, glad to see, SP hold today. Brent holding steady about 50. Jan will be a testing month but if we get through that, holding gains, a steady rise after to 400 is a fair bet.
