Happy, I see what you mean and have the same year that BP and Shell are courting the woke tribe at the expense of profit. Greta and co will always see them as evil. At best they will be thought off as wolf in sheep's clothing. So appealing to them makes no sense, unless going green is in fact profitable in the medium term. I'm hoping it's this and not just following the trend by BP and Shell. I'm also bullish on both but remain ambivalent about this green leaning. ATB

Brokers underestimated the oil prices completely. So the share price predictions will be wrong too. There a lot of upward correction due yet. Don't get me wrong, no body predicted the Saudi move so we're all in the same boat. For once lowly PI's and the big boys are on a level field. ATB

Good luck. I assume you are trading rather than investing. BP overcooked at 304 when brent is $56? I will have to disagree. What we are seeing IMO is a long overdue correction. Time will tell. I am happy to stay put. ATB

Fair enough Ceders - and I have no issue with different strategies. I too have different ones in different shares. This one for me is for keeps - long term Divi is a massive attraction here for me.

Do whatever you wish with all the gaps and candles. I'm very happy trusting my logic and reason and holding all the way to 450 minimum. May off load some at that point, but only to avoid too much CGT. Stress free way of making money. Going in and out is a sure way of adding stress to ones life. I've learned the hard way! ATB.

Deanmck7, I agree. I'm currently on the sidelines but fully intend to buy in once i'm convinced new shares are accounted for and a steady state has been found.
I've seen JC's posts on other forums too and he/she has a bleak outlook with conspiracy at every turn. I'm a glass half full sort of person and cannot see how things will not steadily improve from here on in. TUI has had to dilute to survive but longer term, with other firms going under and pent up demand will spring this back. ATB.

Paddy, Agree completely. Selling now may be tempting given most who have bought in the last 2 months will be in profit. However, why now? This is still a very low SP historically and yes, reflects the situation the world is in, but lots and lots of recovery to come. Hold and in the meantime, unlike other shares, keep collecting good dividend payments. My shares are staying with me for a long time yet. ATB

The Saudi move has upset the apple cart. Huge amount of people who were bearish on oil, need to cover their positions in a hurry. I'm surprised the SP hasn't gone up further. Remember this was 350 in June or July before the sell off began a second time. A correction back to about 340 is overdue. Untill then, any thought of selling is likely to be one people will do well to ignore. IMO

Smithy, agree TLW not rising as much as others. It has however doubled in the last 3 months so perhaps there is more profit taking there holding it back.
With your recent history predicting the direction of oil stock, forgive me for ignoring your suggestion about TLW being toast. ATB

The panic chatter amongst some here is weird considering this is good news. Lockdown for 2 months, reduce spread and deaths whilst effectively vaccinating people with no excuse not to go for the appointment. By Easter, the UK will be safer and ready to be up and running. Comparing this to March 20 when there was no end in sight is crackers. By all means trade away if that's your bag. Too risky for me. II's will be waiting to hoover up cheap shares. This lockdown has been perfectly timed for the big boys. IMO

Yes, agree. Wind behind is greater that potential current turbulence. Oil price is a global affair, so the situation in Europe is not the only influence. Vaccine roll out in the US is going well and will pick up speed once Biden and co get in. Economic outlook is better for the summer than it has been for the last 10 months. BP share price is still about 50% below where it was. So yes, agree potential for rise greater than risk. IMO

Ince the most vulnerable, that is the over 70s are vaccinated, death rates will plummet. After that, there will be little cause to restrict life as normal. Once death rates and hospital admissions settle, the noise will settle down and cinemas will open. IMO

Dalesflyer, these things can change in an instant. All it will take is for Putin, Isis, Qatar, Iran, China....plenty to choose from, to pick a fight.....
