Yup agree. Made a few bob on Bohoo too for exactly the same reason. Can't beat them....join them. I'm out of Bohoo as I generally feel uncomfortable about the model, but it was driven down completely on the back of manipulation IMO.

Sooner - absolutely and if you look at the data - a number of the positives developed Covid-19 infection within 2 weeks of the first dose - well the protection does not start until after so it is terrible data and creates a false impression. There is no doubt pfizer do not like the one injection method - in case it actually works and nations decide 1 is enough - it will halve their profit!

Are the only ones to lose out in these situations. Shorters only make money because someone is spooked and sells. Those who pick up cheap shares do well as do the shorters.
Just occasionally shorting does occur due to genuine fundamental company weakness. One has to assess properly the weakness of a company but Just recently shorting has been mostly manipulation and in a few months suddenly all is well and the SP is higher than it started. Only ones to lose were the panic sellers.
I see shorters as Father Christmas - they give me chances to buy in at prices I should have no right to normally. However, as they say - why look a gift horse in the mouth. I've bought in and have no issue with it dropping further as I will simply add more and more. This SP will be back to over 170 in a few months once the shorters have made enough money.

Interesting and brave - first to declare their hand. I'm unsure how many punters will be upset about this requirement, but mostly i hope it will reassure. I think first mover advantage will be good for bookings. I suspect others will follow shortly. Saga team will have done some market research on this and let's hope for good news at the update next week.

Beachbum, hope other countries follow. They will want this to happen and a lot of micro -economies especially costal ones depend on this. Once Covid secure sailing is established, the previous risks will not hamper. Cruises had a reputation for disease outbreaks but will have had to clean up and shape up - which will bode well for years to come well beyond current pandemic.

If they are not bought out before then. I will not be surprised if an offer drops in the next 2 months. Pure speculation on my part - I just think streaming giants will not want to miss out on the synergies with theatre plus in 2 months they will also see a gradual re-opening and a proportionate reduction in streaming demand so will want to maintain their audience (subscription and advertising base).
just hope we are a bit higher than here when the offer comes. otherwise we will not get the massive upside considering the risk people have taken in holding through the lows. ATB

Makes little sense to me. Surely there are better margins to be made elsewhere in more volatile stock. Risk of getting it wrong for the sake of a 1-2% swing is a bit odd. IMO of course.

Skelley, will be a flat day I think too. Not much over the weekend to move in either direction. Only caveat is if there was a drop on Friday for traders to sit out the weekend, they may get back in. Flat I suspect.

Boy, not sure I agree. Its not quite as straight forward. This very much depends on the fundamentals of the company, wider news, sentiment, how long you plan to hold etc. Averaging down works absolutely fine in some instances. If you for example, do hold to 2022, I am pretty sure you will be in net gain on all your purchases. ATB

TBH, i've had covid 19 infection back in May. But felt I ought to take the vac to stay in line with guidance. Felt a little bit bad as I would have gladly given my turn to others who are older - but the system doesn't work that way. Hopefully anyone at risk will have one soon anyway.

I think you are right in the short term - ie until about end of Feb. After that we should see a cliff edge drop in deaths and hospitalisations - and the 'deadly' prefix for the pandemic can be removed (at least in the UK). Will still be an issue but for those vaccinated, travel will be an option. The UK is too PC to say one cannot travel without a vaccine but other countries will possibly be less worried about upsetting the liberals and have a policy not to allow one in without a vaccine or a negative test (probably both).
So yes, it looks very bad now, but I feel in 2 months things will be vastly different.
The variants are only an issue if they don't respond to the current vaccine related immunity. If the shappens, vaccines will need to be modified and the cycle will need to begin again. So then there will be a set back in timescales probably unto Autumn or beyond. This is unlikely in my view. Mutations generally make the virus weaker and vaccines usually continue to work at least to a degree (one does not go from full protection to no protection in one mutation). So the fear is being over hyped. Negative news sells newspapers and is click bait - which seems to be the only factor the news outlets seem to care about these days as this equates to advertising revenue.
I'm definitely more optimistic than most but am not being blindly so.
