Itsaponzi They have certainly backed their judgement with money and that’s positive. However while GENL volume today is just 59 K shares GKP is over 2 million and with our price falling a lot of money is saying the opposite here.

The report, a long article in a respected publication, followed the visit to Rome by President Barzani on April 13th where the fact that 13% of Italy’s oil ( population 60 + million ) was being supplied by the KRG via Turkey would surely have been discussed.

Just came across an interesting article, not new ( 13 April ) Italian Insititute for International Political Studies @ ispionline.it regrading Italy’s replacement of the 13 % of their oil requirements that previously came from Russia, until the closure it was KRG oil via Turkey. It now seems that Italy are adding their weight to the negotiations.

Thanks, being on this platform saves so much of my own time performing research. Regarding your previous post should have sold then, purchased there etc. I’d be a very rich man given the benefit of hindsight, for instance I doubled my holding on Thursday @133 but could have done so @126 on Friday.

No Armasmaximilian not a laugh. I was reading the share prices / volumes. In short what I predicted happened although we still have a way to go before the price I’m seeking arrives, as it will, the ducks are being lined up. In the meantime have a nice worry free weekend.

Today’s trading @ 1.50 pm + 2.7 million is higher than normal and the price while recovering from the days low remains negative. Clearly it has yet to factor in any positive news. The mood on this forum seems to have improved reflecting the first signs of ‘ducks lining up’ and that’s positive if the reports published in the Iraq news agency are taken up by the main stream. Therefore the shorts / sellers might run for the hills before a long weekend when more certainly could emerge. In that respect today’s late afternoon price will be revealing.

This is a direct quote from the oil minister as opposed to the wild speculation that’s been posed here recently. It’s a fact that the KRG have been given vast sums of money by oil traders secured on future oil sales. Now before those same traders sign new contracts with Iraq they will need to be given assurances of repayment. Without those massive international traders buying the oil what would the point of opening the pipeline have been other than filling storage in Turkey. This is starting to become clearer to those that base their judgment on facts.

Clearly you don’t hold GKP so what is the point of posting unproven speculation on this forum? Seems to be malicious! Or are you so concerned about the financial well being of GKP holders that you are taking the trouble to kindly tell us something that you know to be true. The former deems most likely.

Pessimistic speculation as opposed to proven facts. If you hold the stock and are predicting 50p Why ? If you don’t hold the stock what’s the point of your personal theory when all holders of GKP know, or should know, that it is high risk / reward stock.

We have clearly entered a period of uncertainty where speculation can lead us in any direction. Yesterday’s RNS now seems to have been one that the company felt they had to issue in advance of today’s formal announcements, doing so reluctantly because they don’t seem to know anything that we didn’t or what and when the outcome will be finalised. In my own view / personal circumstances I topped up yesterday and all that I can do now is await the outcome, accept result and move on, be that with more or less money than I stated with because I took the risk with open eyes. For those that the money means more than it should in a high risk stock this might be the time to bail out and move on to something different. For those that can afford the potential of a large loss in the hope of a decent reward this might be the time to sit back, relax and await the outcome without wasting too much time on idle speculation. That said my prediction remains; the shares will bounce when the oil flows and the price thereafter will depend upon the devils in the details that have yet to be announced / decided or agreed. Have a nice long weekend folks and don’t spoil it by thinking too much about events that we have no control over.

Trucking might be a survival option if Turkey play hard ball. To an Iraq port I’d suppose, but as this isn’t within my share traders field of expertise can someone tell me how much oil can be transported in a truck? How many trucks = one day’s production etc.?

Thanks for your input Belgrano. I hope you’re right, that’s also my belief. I came into GKP with my eyes open and it has become an interesting part of an investment portfolio that’s mostly made up of stable multi billion pound companies. Without this 5% of risk in my retirement fund it would be far less enjoyable, and if I didn’t have a wife and children it would be 20% risk. Patience required as it’s when and not if the line opens.

With Iraq demanding full price for Kurdish oil in the future ( when pipeline opens ) are Turkey taking advantage of discounted Russian oil? And they’re a NATO country armed by the U.S. POLITICS!

Belgrano / Armasm. Thanks for your input. I’m still here sitting on my hands in fear of my fingers doing something that my brain wouldn’t. The share price over the past couple of hours hasn’t offered a clue and with evening in Iraq and their Friday / Saturday weekend in mind I doubt that there’ll be much news from them. On balance I’m a buyer at 135 but each to their own and personally I’ll sleep ?? well no matter what the outcome might be, or should I say ‘will be’ because I’m sure that GKP can survive the year and we won’t be here for 8 months speculating on this.

Today’s trading volume of over 2 million shares indicates a difference of opinion between those that are taking what they can while they can and those that believe that the price is an opportunity. Personally I’m sitting on a fence wondering if I should buy a few more as a short ( one week or one month ) gamble. Same as I did last month @ 143. In hindsight I was wrong then. Now in the hope that my wife doesn’t discover what I’m doing I’m tilting on the edge of buying today, again without the benefit of hindsight.

On the face of it nothing that was not widely known was mentioned in the RNS and the production figures were o.k. The disappointment reflected in the share price could simply be the lack of good news. My own disappointment stems from the fact that GKP themselves seem to know as much as I do regarding the timeline of the pipeline closure; not a lot.
At this point I’m on hold because nothing apart from the share price has changed overnight, that said if I were a day trader this does appear to be an opportunity for those that can take the risk. That said, I’ll keep my eye on the price and jump in if it does fall further because the pipeline will open, it’s just a case of when and with 99 million GKP should be able to last longer than the KRG. Besides it’s only money and if that was your pension and not an affordable calculated risk don’t give up your day job.

Being a newcomer here I have posted a few foolish rants, but I have found some interesting information here on a technical side where I have no knowledge. Otherwise I’m filling the time with idle banter while waiting for an outcome that will come simply because a closed pipeline / revenue stream doesn’t suit anyone apart from extremists in Iran that do, apparently, have influence in Iraq. Time will tell and in the meantime speculation will continue I suppose.
