Hi Kaeren,in answer to your question about lighthouse lab's this article regarding the Plymouth lab talks of consolidation with several due to close. However there doesn't seem a clear cut plan as to what they are going to do with the equipment.

Gizmo, last December the UK Health Security Agency placed a job advert for a Decommissioning and Repurposing Lead to oversee lighthouse lab closures . When the shortage of tests and laboratory capacity occured at the beginning of January this advert was quickly removed before any of the papers latched onto it. Eventually it was reposted at the end of January when covid levels were falling. The job offered an eight month contract which entailed repurposing the equipment that had been bought to kit out the labs.The main beneficiaries from any redistribution of equipment would most likely be existing NHS labs.

If I remember correctly Novacyt were recruiting last May for a clinical trials manager to work at the Blizard Institute for nine months . We've never been able to find out what they are up to.

B2HS2L, thanks for the reply on saturday regarding Biosynex .Going of previous form and press statements I see them them looking for a partnership. We've discussed on this board in the past about new rules that the government were bringing in to protect companies from takeovers when they are playing a vital role fighting the pandemic .The government have now introduced the National -Security-and-Investment-Act , which covers a comprehensive range of companies in various industries etc. As a government supplier Novacyt would probably be classed as a critical supplier under this Act. PI100, you posted earlier this evening that Novacyt missed out on the biggest covid wave so far in the two months before christmas. Once again you are writing your own version of events. Omicron was first sequenced and identified on 9/11/21 in South Africa and the first sequenced case in the UK was the 27/11/21. Case numbers driven by the omicron variant didn't take off until approaching the middle of December in the UK , with europe and the USA following on from this . So I don't know where you are getting your two month wave from .
