Hi Kaeren and Gizzmo, my take on the packaging is this is the name etc that was provided when the test was first put through for regulatory approval approximately a year ago .To change the name and other details halfway through the regulatory process would have probably set the launch date back a significant amount of time.

I don't know if anyone has read the LinkedIn posts by Rishi Suri ,the Strategy and Business Planning Director at Tata MD. He shares a similar view to Novacyt regarding the future development and pathways of diagnostic testing.

From what I can see there are three covid lateral flow tests that have been approved for procurement by UNICEF. These are Abbott Pandio, SD Biosensor Standard Q and Premier Medical Sure Status . Samples are taken by swabs and the tests are for professional use only.

Hi Karen, from what DA said during the recent strategy presentation two of the transplantation assays (Epstein Barr virus and BK virus ) have already been developed and the Cytomegalovirus assay is in progress. If you look at the slide from the presentation it shows tests currently going through regulatory procedures and other/s at development stage. These are all viruses that commonly exist in the human body from infections when you were younger. Normally they cause no issues, but because of the immuno suppressing drugs that transplant patients have to take these viruses can become a dangerous problem post surgery.
On the same slide at the presentation it shows non covid lateral flow tests in the final stages of regulatory procedure . What are these targeting, there was no mention from DA.

Looking at the USA trademark application for the name NOVACYT i see this was filed around the time it finished it's 60 days in the UK trademark journal early November 2021.Obviously Novacyt knew there had been no objections to the use of the name and went ahead with the USA application .The date people were seeing earlier today regarding the 14/05/21 is when the UK application was first made . Hopefully there should be an update on USA site if they keep to their timescales.
What I also saw in the link that was posted earlier is that the name LAB21 was trademark registered in the USA in 2011 .As of the 20/01/22 this trade marking of the name LAB21 was closed . This seems to fit in with the narrative of bringing everything under one name.

Just to add to the recent discussion about new starters it appears that Peter Rowley has started this month as a senior software developer, Josef Duda firmware engineer (January) and Michael Dent (software development manager ) could be sub contracting.
I also noticed Adam Herridge (ex Novacyt) who started a PCR development role with the DHSC last october has now moved on . His LinkedIn page gives a little more detail of what he was doing whilst there and surprisingly Novacyts new firmware engineer seems to be connected on his LinkedIn page.

Hi Wilson, as far as I am aware the tests that Novacyt are relaunching come under the research use only classification . This type of test doesn't have to clear as many hurdles to placed on the market and is not used for direct medical diagnosis. They are used for research purposes such as aiding the development of new drug's .

Hi Wilson, from the slide that was shown in the investor presentation Novacyt appear to have multiple new products that are currently going through the regulatory process . However DA has to give lengthy times till launch because of the excessive demand on notified bodies that are struggling to cope with the new in vitro device regulations in the EU . Hopefully Novacyts recent switch to the UK based notified body Advena will help with this process. In the meantime i would expect some form of m+a to give Novacyt access to tests that are already on the market.
