This should be good...!
Fort: please explain the mechanism by which blackrock move solg shares from one fund to another. Go for it. Google the bits you need to. I know you must understand it better than me, otherwise you wouldn't have suggested it was contributing to the low sp. Because that's the actions of a shameless, brainless ramper, and you're not one of those...
Go on, explain it to the good people. No one here knows better than you...
H1 includes 27 February...
He said fond farewells a few weeks ago. Still holding I believe he said, but unhappy with the BB!
Morning addicknt, I wonder how far we are from a DFS.
If you remember we redid the PFS so that it was in a format that could be used in the DFS.
The strategic review will hopefully give us more detail.
What happened to the ramper Shaun Hunter....seems to have gone AWOL?
Certainly some Institutional action going on and has been since Dec period. Could be for a plethora of reasons as you have the added complication of TSX, currency and potential tax situations. I would have thought that Blackrock would be already set in term of tax efficiency but I've seen other funds selling before across various stocks when the exit one country / stock and enter another. For tax purposes, they prefer to sell low and book the losses and then buy back at same price (or thereabouts) in offshore funds that are safe from the profits/tax should a large bid be presented etc.
Blackrock selling from one fund to another is not unusual. Unfortunately that type of action often suppresses the share price and squeezes some over leveraged out including retail. Perfect storm for II's pre bid situations.
Ugly business isn't it!?
Could go past 10m traded today with the after hours market likely to be large. Weak SP, suppressed again by...??
Could be …. The other theory was Blackrock selling into the rise ….. honestly I don’t know but I’m confident it’ll change
Dbw, I did wonder whether yesterday's rise (think we were 8% up at one point) might have been down to the shorters closing out their position. Might see a similar bounce when North America wakes up.
3m traded already
Q, how can it? We won't have a DFS and I struggle to see anyone dipping into their pockets without one.
Addicknt maybe the strategic review will include financing.
SM, I took that to mean the whole process. Of course, I could have misunderstood...again!
It seems even a simple statement such as when can we expect the results of the SR, are open to misinterpretation.
You need to ask why they are dragging their heels.
That was specifically related to financing though, and "in connection" with the ongoing strategic review. I thought it was a pretty vague statement (vintage SOLG).
"The Board expects to recommend its future funding strategy in H1 2023 in connection with the Company’s ongoing strategic review."
SM, the H1 comment appeared in the Prospectus.
Orthern, you are clearly not happy invested here and at times I share you cynicism. But there was no way they were going to announce the outcome of the strategic review before completing the merger. Where have you got end of June from?
If the strategic review is dragged out towards the end of June, it would mean it will have taken the fat part of a year to complete, given It was announced it was already underway back in October….. Given we are not a large, multinational corporation, with complex operations all around the globe, more a small explorer, with just a single, proven asset… how does our strategic review take this long?
How can it possibly take the best part of a year to discuss and decide what to do next with our only proven asset?… It’s just continued heel dragging in my eyes…
‘Quick and clever’ my ****!!!
Q, they've given themselves four months to complete the SR...let's hope they manage to get it done before then.
I was being tongue in cheek. It’s probably the most tax efficient way of paying their dividends.
With a coupon of 5% I'm sure they'd get lynched if they used the funds to buy a junior in Ecuador.
Unfortunately.
Jezzoo BHP is a global company.
I can promise you very little time is taken discussing Solgold.
We are a long burn asset for them.
Besides they wouldn't need to borrow money to purchase us.
They have more than enough in the bank.
Correction... it’s 2.75 billion. They must need highlighters as well.
Maybe they're going into production............. in Ecuador.
BHP just issued a 2.5 billion dollar bond for general corporate purposes. See today’s RNS. Heck of a lot of dosh for photocopy paper and admin!?!
