The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
The world can't fix problems for the people of African nations by calling their countries "cesspits", add. But I don't expect you will apologize: you clearly think it's an appropriate choice of language to describe proud, sovereign nations.
"Cesspits of Africa"?!
Add I know you're old but you can't say that buddy. You're talking about somewhere people live, where people raise their families. And not through choice, but through the random consequence of their birth. You might be lucky enough to live in a developed country, but don't call other people's countries cesspits. Take that back, or you're down on slugs level.
Add, did you get hacked? Was it someone else who said
"Everything SC is doing at the moment is designed to make us appear not to be forced sellers and to allow us to enter negotiations from a position of relative strength"
Everything. Everything SC is doing. Every little thing. Do you see it yet?! Not misrepresenting: it is exactly what you wrote. Now grow up and accept that you were presenting (misguided, it will prove) opinion as fact. I was right to call you out on it.
As for my use of Latin, mea culpa. I should have known that your education level helps explain your lack of understanding here.
I haven't misinterpreted your post at all. You said
"Everything SC is doing at the moment is designed to make us appear not to be forced sellers and to allow us to enter negotiations from a position of relative strength"
You presented the idea that everything SC is doing is about appearances. You said that exactly. Do YOU accept that he might actually be trying to advance cascabel? Like he, um, said he was?
Thanks for spelling tips π you don't speak Latin, I guess? Once again, your age hasn't actually brought you any wisdom.
"Everything SC is doing at the moment is designed to make us appear not to be forced sellers and to allow us to enter negotiations from a position of relative strength"
This is you presenting opinion as fact, like the pius tool you are.
No, SC's efforts to repair the damage caused since DC's departure is not going well- when did I say it was?
I believe it's better to sell a company from a position of strength. But (call me a traditionalist) I also think it's wise to sell a company to a buyer!! π Who is the buyer, wise guy?
"Everything SC is doing at the moment is designed to make us appear not to be forced sellers and to allow us to enter negotiations from a position of relative strength"
Opinion stated as fact, as is typical from this one. I would counter that everything SC is doing at the moment is to make us a viable company and get the share price out of its current hole. A company who has just signed a term extension and exploitation agreement is thinking about how to exploit the resource? Shocker. Must be because they are trying to sell?! π
Aw, you have my sympathy, add. And it was you who brought up my age. Wanna see the post?
It's uncanny how you forget your digressions but try to keep tabs on everyone else's. And it does feel like bullying when the people on here are as thick as novice, red, fort et al
Will I gain wisdom? Perhaps, but let's hope it's enough not to need to gamble on Solg into my 60s
Ship, if I haven't made any money here in the next 17 years, I'll be realigning my portfolio and moving out of solg. But we'll be earning some healthy dividends by then, if I get my way, so it can be in the mix with my blue chips π
Are you a fellow 'youngster', Jezz? Add tried to patronize me based on my age once, and he thinks 40s is young, so I'd guess he's a fellow desperate 60/70-plus.
It is a bit tragic- you have to wonder why these people weren't smarter in their 30s and 40s, so they weren't left rolling the dice on a small explorer in LatAm? They could be a few Β£100k into a variety of FTSE-leaders, sufficiently diversified to essentially guarantee a robust income... Oh well, takes all sorts I guess π€·ββοΈ
We don't need to be more attractive to others, and if anything we do now results in us getting minerals out of the ground, it does 'add value' (meaninglessly vague phrase though that is).
Old people really shouldn't invest in high risk stocks like this. If you're over, say, 60, you should have been saving enough that some decent divs will see you live well and leave a decent block when you die. Only desperate fools would put any of their life savings into solg expecting a quick return... Or maybe they got talked into it by our resident, incessant rampers?
I think the penny is finally dropping with the slower posters here, that "we're mine finders, not mine builders" was in fact a snappy soundbites describing reality, rather than an indication of an imminent TO. At this rate, they should have realized we're not going to get a bid this year by... Oooo, maybe next April?!
I strongly suspect there will be a troop on here in early January claiming they were right, that there was a bid in 2023, we just haven't heard about it yet π
In sept '18 you mocked someone for saying this was going back to 15p, aqui. How's that going?
Literally the first page of yours I clicked on. You fantasists make this too easy. Just hope anyone reading this board for the first time has a quick check of people's posting history, to realise you armchair traders are thick, broke and disingenuous in equal measure! Meanwhile, we plod on to an interesting AGM this December...
They hate seeing their past stupidity laid out for all to see.
For example (first click on a random page from posting history), who said:
"Looking far more positive from this point onwards" in April '22? And what has happened to the SP since?
Rampers gonna ramp.
Novice, literally the only one foolish enough to put an October (!!) timeline on a TO is you. So forgive the masses when we completely ignore literally everything that you say.
Is it still 20p by Friday? π
Simpleton.
Flat for the week. I said a drift, so at least we avoided that π€·ββοΈ
What's your evidence for us being 'very close' just over a year ago? Was it the significantly higher share price? Did the market know about your 'very close'? So does our rock bottom price now mean we're not close?
Rampers gonna ramp π₯±
