Are they all bonkers?
I think not,it may have dawned on some followers of this company that employees of Novacyt have, in the last month of 2022, bought approx. £200k of shares and hold approaching £500k in total.
Almond,Crinelli and McCarthy know something is brewing!
I was aware that ONT had had their contract cancelled last April but wasn't aware that there'd been a dispute over outstanding invoices . Seems we weren't unique in the DHSCs attempt to screw over suppliers as they changed horses mid race for LFTs. Considering like ONT we've never been mentioned in terms of the GLP I don't think that's going to be an impediment to settlement. Besides, the GLPs case against the government would not be covered by the contractual NDA with the DHSC and the company would be obligated to notify us that settlement would be dependent on it's outcome .
I'd also like to see us pursue them for the inventory that we've had to write off. 30m would have sunk most companies of our size.
Maxed out my ISA allowance again an hour ago.
If we all do the same, we will close over 300.
I know I'm dreaming. But love a bargain.
Damn liquidity agreement RNS.
Here I was hoping for the dispute resolution.
what a waste of money that rns is... :)
ps maybe we should set up a testing lab?
Perhaps we might make a few quid whilst we are waiting for... peppermoth pr to get going :)
Lol its like having big brother watching over me, you always pop up and comment, why?
I have no influence, any more than you...? Has the Fast Money, become, Slow? And before you say it, lol, no I cannot predict the future, if I could, I would certainly have not ploughed a chunk in here !!!!
The monthly RNS out.
I think DHSC might be be inclined now to get things resolved ASAP.
Deltacron is really taking hold now.
Testing is now nearly as high as its ever been and lots more ppl becoming really ill with it too. Vaccine only appears to be effective for about 4 months so herd immunity is waning already. Lighthouse labs being closed down so more pressure on NHS labs.
Just because the government want this to be over doesn't mean it is over.
Any and all extra Testing capacity will be needed.
Its not headline news anymore but another storm coming. No restrictions at all and reduced immunity could put us back to the same situation as the 1st lockdown
Valju….if the price goes up, there are buys than sells.
If the price goes down, there are more sells than buys.
It really is quite that simple. The advertised spread and the coinciding colour based on mid point of said sell and buy is meaningless. As are the conspiracy theories. Surely the low volume being traded shows you that any mini spike will not hold for long.
NovacytGroup advertising Co-prep and PROmate on openaccess governement with a great article :

(Or re-publishing...)
Id put a full stop, after idea?
Then you have the correct picture... imo :)
I'd agree, the Novacyt Board have no idea what Biosynex's true intention might be.
"I guess it depends if you believe Mandy when she says 'We don't know what Biosynex's interest is'."
I am sure that is technically honest and true - as they have not been informed.
one would like to hope the company do have a suspicion on what products/services Bio are after.
Whilst I also thought the Nanopore share price would react well it's worth noting that they are currently valued at £3.3b so £50m is a drop in the ocean compared to what it would be to us.
£50m as a percentage of Nanopore's mcap is 1.5%, £70m as a percentage of our mcap would be 45%.
All this red, knowing most is blue, HL showing 220 sell, so anything over must be a buy surely!
Come on LSE lets see some BLUE please, you know you want to :)
At the start of each quarter we ask ourselves 'Is this going to be the quarter that the dispute is settled'.
My thoughts are that Q2 2022 is more likely than any previous quarter for the dispute to be settled.
1. Three directors and a directors PA buy in recently (incl CFO and a CEO large purchase). Not expecting the dispute to end this close to director purchases though.
2. From Proactive Investor interview -
"I'm a Marketing guy by background, and the company has been a little more product lead in the past, - but I really want to be more market or customer lead serving our medical needs and picking important under-served issues in the future as we invest in the non-covid portfolio, so there will be more of an update on that in April with the full year results."
- That could possibly mean M&A activity if additional settlement cash is available should the dispute end. It's not obvious why they don't spend the pile they already have, but if they have plans to bid for a company, and they need a successful DHSC settlement AND the cash pile to succeed, then there will only be one of those opportunities, or the cash pile and settlement reduces in lots of other ways.
I guess it depends if you believe Mandy when she says 'We don't know what Biosynex's interest is'.
I thought Nano,s SP would have fared better on this news.
Flip heck 70 mil (for arguments sake) which is more than all our peers combined have made throughout the pandemic and we have a circa 160 mcap.
Mr Almond you have the floor for your strategy update.
Maybe Friday 8th at 1230 it'll get announced, 1 year from the disastrous day!!!
I'd like some reimbursement for the £30m stock write off also please.
Resolution isn't just about adding £70m to the mcap that would come from the cash payment from DHSC. It opens oh so many doors for us. It would be a significant base jump when it arrives.
Absolutely Kaeren, my thinking as well.
Wonder if the DHSC/Government are waiting for the next Fiscal year (6th Apr) before settling other claims?
If it happens that's a lot of cash for acquisitions which if made correctly instantly could add substantially to bottom line profit. Therefore I disagree strongly with predictions of a quid difference.
I partially agree with you bluetiger. In the short term it will probably spike closer to £2 a share than £1 but it won't be enough by itself to make novacyt into a midcap company, obviously...
Still, for the longer term success 70 odd million extra in the coffers sure isn't going to hurt novacyt's chances is it? It's a huge derisking event if it happens.
