I’m really tempted to buy the dips here, but I am concerned at the way the director sold so quickly after announcing her departure. If I’ve understood correctly, she is with the company to the end of the year. If so, then Surely it would be better to wait and sell after the results this month … if they are good?

Any news from Amazon regards a concrete production program will send this stock up. I think people are waiting to see how this develops now.
I bought recently and was please to see a recent rise. however, I was bvery busy today and didn't notice that my 'gain' has just been wiped out! Take your eye off the ball and it'll break your window!
Been in at this share twice , it seldom does anything except tread water and bob up and down , its tipped by most tipsters but seldom does anything and doesnt hold its gains , Keep my eye on it but doesnt look a good stock to me

Vulture: no mega news but it’s holding above £100.
Hope it continues northwards. 🤞
This seems to need some sort of mega news to break £100. A good share to trade from £95-£100 but this is one of my buy and holds.

For multiple reasons:
1) they enable window shopping - seeing the real deal (painted models etc.) - triggering interest and if new potential customers research warhammer online after seeing the store - success.
2)they all have gaming tables to introduce potential new gamers to the hobby (not all independent stockists can offer that) and not everyone can visit Warhammer Hall in Nottingham.
3) you can click and collect your mail orders and special deals in these stores
4) unlike independent retailers they stock the whole range.
Yes, they cost rent, but most if not all warhammer stores are now 1-man stores, whereas a couple of years they were all run by teams of 2-3. So overheads have reduced significantly.
They are there to promote the hobby / to get new customers - if they then later buy from independent stockists, because they offer discounts on the products - they still have completed their mission by creating interest in the hobby in the first place.
Why does it still have shops in town centers the independents sell the product cheaper, so why ho to the shops at all?
"With footfall in town centres dwindling is there any point in continuing with expensive leases or is this part of their strategy?"
I'm sure I have seen them report regularly on their monitoring of the profitability of stores and numbers of closures where those are underperforming. with fewer staff running stores now, it is possible that stores look empty/ closed during day time but are open later to allow for community games nights or painting sessions etc which is probably where stores are still adding value.
Re empty shops. Do they not own them? I had that in my head. But the hops are used for games nights. My local one went from just a downstairs with two tables to play on to moving up the street with on that had a HUGE upstairs area with 20 plus tables.
Have held this share for a few years and have been pleased with its progress. My only concern is their shops are always empty when I go past! With footfall in town centres dwindling is there any point in continuing with expensive leases or is this part of their strategy?
Any insights would be appreciated.

Don't Rachel Tongue is stepping down as CFO at the end of the year. Director sales often contain more noise than signal, as there are many reasons for a director to sell, where as there are fewer reasons reason why they buy stock.
Apparently the CFO has sold 2/3rds of her stake.
The SP has been comfortably in this range since the start of December last year.
That's the exact issue, it's lazy box ticking... This may not end well if they try to pander to the very vocal minority that have been working their way through multiple works of fiction.
Star Wars (destroyed)
Lord of the rings (damaged)
Doctor Who ( heavily damaged)
Scooby Doo ( look up Velma TV Show)
Gillette Me two movement
BudLight
Warhammer 40k is looking to be next...
These type of people are insidious at the moment within western art's. They are trying to change all of them for their own agenda without any concern about how the work of art is affected.
it's not about what it is they change, it's about the fact they attempt it with EVERYTHING in the Western Media.
Sell or hold I would not purchase
DYOR,
Ah that is disappointing, just make more factions where women make sense to the lore! Hate it when people box tick like that

Dividend, not benefit - senior moment
IIRC last year's cash/ benefit benefitted from a French VAT refund that was in the low 10's of millions.
Not much of a div increase year on year there but was last years too high when GW said they declared too much on quarter?
No additional detail than 'in line' and Divi moves to £4.20 (vs £4.15 LY)
Anyone care to do a deep dive into the minutiae of today's TA? :-))

It does seem reticent to clear and stay above £100 - couple of forays in the past but then quickly diving back down
£100 again at close. Will it break through or fall back to 93-95?

I think a stock split would help the share price. People are often put off by the £100/share price tag. It sounds odd to a savvy investor, but I beleive it's still valid.

Looking for £120 to be broken and held this year. I am not a Warhammer fan but the company has the perfect business model and is ripe to grow further.
£100 seems a real pyscological limit just now. keeps bouncing off it.
NED Kate Marsh spent over £30k buying shares on the open market at £95 to nearly double her holding.
A sign of confidence, surely, from someone who already had skin in the game and didn't need to purchase more shares just for the optics.

Licensing, by its very nature, will always be lumpy. Think of it as the cherry on top rather than a core metric.
Everything that is under Games Workshop's control is doing fantastically well. Very few companies have thrived during Covid/Brexit/global recession like GAW have. It's a beast!
Divis still rising too :)
Another very good set of results with Revenue up circa 10% (12.4% constant currency) and Profit up circa 14%. Cash also up to £85m from £63m.
If looking for a grumble licensing revenue is slightly down but for good reasons outlined. It'll certainly get a good kick up when the Amazon project takes off.
With a reliable Dividend, all in all, GAW struggles to put a foot wrong in my book.

Streaming services crying out for content. If they get it right they could have years and years of series. But they could very easyly get it wrong and every faction has to "grow and learn and become better people" etc.
They are a bit more enthusiastic about it on their community website: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2023/12/18/warhammer-amazon-contracts-signed-the-news-every-warhammer-fan-has-been-waiting-for/
But for me the item I look forward to most will be the release of Warhammer - The Old World in early 2024. This is the re-surrection of their fantasy game and the one that most people now in their 30's and 40's (i.e. the one with some money behind them) have grown up with. This promises to be a great money maker for for the company in 2024 - similar to (or even bigger than) the release of their 10th version of Warhammer 40k in 2023. And it will add nicely to any future licensing deals.
Added @£98.91, and doubled my holding.

Amazon have probably had to take a little time to realise GAW are not going to let them make some woke junk. They will have to put some real effort in here, and the end result will benefit for it. Rings of Power got slated for a pretty sketchy storyline.
There is a real chance that GAW can force Amazon to make something really good, blowing away even the Marvel universe, and Star Wars now that disney are destroying it.
Exciting times.
Haha, yeah i love their almost complete disregard for The City. They let the numbers do the talking.
Clearly the financials have been agreed and most companies would have disclosed those in a flash. Sure, it's conditional on the creative guidelines, but i'd be amazed if there isn't at least a draft of those already in existence. It must be clear to Amazon that GAW won't roll over when it comes to protecting their IP, so i don't think either company would have signed the commercial contract if there wasn't a decent understanding of how this will work from a creative viewpoint.

Yeah, look up "Psychology of a bubble".
We've just had the "bull trap" phase of the bear market rally, now there will be fear, then capitulation.
I'm long on 4-5% bond ETFs atm.
As FED says, if inflation hits 2.5-3% fed funds rate will have to drop, so we will see these long bond ETFS massively rally as the market tanks.
GAW is at PE=24, dividends are more than free cash flow. I'm expecting £38-40 and PE of 12 before I'd buy.
Not to sound overly dramatic, but is this the start of a market crash as seems like this across the board with shares?

have a nice rest of week and best of fortune to you.

Yes there is the risk of a global recession/downtrend but unless you are short term playing that then its going to offer good entry / top up points for long term holders.
GAW is a long long term hold for me so even if a market drop comes I will just hold through it and add where possible to long term hold and quality positions.
You need to be clear on why you are investing and for how long. Personally 75%+ of my invested capital is long term 10yrs, 20% medium term cycles that I play for a specific reasons over 1-5yrs & 5% for short term flips up to 1yr to keep me busy.
I hope this helps,
Good Luck
I’m not sure this is an indication of fair value suddenly being realised given how long it has been at higher levels especially when it most recently had its best results, dividend and big opportunity.
Is something bigger a foot as it’s red daily across the board and the news is filled with stories about the Chinese and American markets really struggling.
Thank you kindly
Its probably seen as fairly valued around its current SP vs trading. It would need new news to go higher.
The likely things that could do this are:
- Special Dividends (which it has done in the past)
- Amazon TV News
Otherwise its a hold, enjoy the divi and buy more if there is a big overall market dip that brings it down into a good value area.

Can anyone explain the big slide going on here after a great RNS and the ex divi date approaching.

Great revenues and numbers today ...see this climbing up on the leaderboard....i do like GAW and TRLS....both rising today and hopefully close in the top 5 risers today
