Just a question of me deciding which other holding to sell out of because at this level I want to get more somehow.

BOOM is 10% of my portfolio. If it was 20% it wouldn't bother me.

Using the ****e logic that there's no takeover in the offing when he's buying, 3 days without one must mean it's nearly done and dusted LOL

Loss for the year £1.5m (of which £1.2m admin expenses). Cash in the bank £600k

As far as the Company fundamentals are concerned, things have changed now.

And the change is that it's an even better company than before, with a longer history of constantly improving performance. It's an independent leader in its field..... and still a major takeover target.

If you're in this for the medium/long term then this drop will be frustrating, but that's all it is, just frustrating. The silver lining is that if you've got any spare cash (I know I know) then the opportunity to add at a 50% discount to a few weeks ago has got to be too good to pass up. (Shruggy emoji).

If anyone out there thinks the story has changed and that BOOM is now a worse prospect than before then speak up, because I must be missing something.

Constant improvement, year on year. Not much to be unhappy about there.

The company will be receiving 'unsolicited' expressions of interest and indicative offers all of the time at the moment, and simply receiving such communication doesn't activate a closed period. What people don't seem to realise is that it takes only a few hours to go from an unsolicited offer to an acceptable offer (and from open to closed). MT knows this and will buy up to the last moment he can. All the newspaper speculation happens in the 'speculative' and 'sounding out' phase.

The first we'll hear about an acceptable offer is when the RNS lands.

Anyone thinking they'll be able to jump in between one and the other is playing a brave game, but each to their own.

The BoD do seem to have steadied the ship now.

A flow of orders and the Gov £8m to come, all is starting to look very good again.

Durbsguy - Stuart and Brad are both young(ish) guys with mouths to feed, mortgages to pay, etc. More importantly, they have plenty of shares already.

I expect MT has waved his kids goodbye and is spreading a lifetime of earnings around.

They won’t appeal. They’ve already exceeded their cash allocation on this case.

Only ORPH could get recognition in The Times business section on a day the markets closed. LOL

Oh well. Nice to get the recognition anyway. Hopefully the market will remember on Monday.

If I was guessing at likely near term good news I’d plump for upward revised guidance.

That revenue projection was as conservative as always. How many upward guidance changes were there in the last FY? Seem to remember a few.

Unfortunately there’s not much peer data to form a judgement on what’s reasonable.

3x? 5x? If we were on NASDAQ maybe as much as 7x. Shrugged emoji

It’s been a disaster since AR bullied his sidekicks onto the board. He suggested that the original board didn’t have the nouse to take the company to the next level, well….. his influence to date has certainly been dramatic. 15p to 3p. Awesome.

The only thing the original board did badly was capitulate to his interfering.

I’ve never heard that interpretation of an employee buying the shares in a company they work for before.

If you draw a salary your shares are effectively discounted…. if you work for nothing of course, otherwise they cost the same as they do to everyone else (excluding warrants of course). The amount he has spent on shares vastly exceeds post-tax salary in any case.

As for the drop, there’s no doubt been a seller, but I put it more down to traders seeing a longer time frame in the company sale being announced so they’re stepping out for a while and taking the chance to do it all over again later (rinse and repeat). It went up fast. Without a deal completing it was always going to come down fast too, but it’ll go up again soon. You pays your money and takes your choice.

I’m happy to sit it out and add a few more on the lows when funds allow.

Mozi - The ‘surprise & delight’ reference from a few presentations ago make it clear there are plans for its use, but like the spac I mentioned, the markets over the last 6 months haven’t helped deals get off the ground.

Maybe my opening post was too flippant for some. ORPH is a great little company.

Nothing makes me feel they won’t use it. It’s just that we’re working in CF time and it’s about time it was doing something. I’ve been here longer than most (but not as long as some) and I’ve heard plenty of comments but not seen the fruition of any action, although the 11th hour falling over of the spac at the turn of the year was an example of how the best laid plans can come to nought.

It’s not earning the company much sitting in the bank for the last 12 months though.

I agree Scinv, but so is not making use of £15m plus of cash.

You go and explain to MT that he’s paying too much then.
