Timing tops/bottoms or any kind of short term trading a stock never really worked for me. Had stuff run away from me... I only really look at the fundamentalsand figure out how much I would pay to buy the whole co.

If you can make more money by doing what you are doing more power to you.

To be honest I would really drill down why the witholding amount is wrong. Either there is a reasonable explanation (certain fees apply, a mistake etc) or I would change my broker. Its one of the most basic tasks a broker has to do. Imagine accepting some higher witholding rate because of "pooling". Yeah sure buddy scam me out of my money.

IBKR UK has a terrible interface but never made such mistakes in my case.

I'm using Interactive Brokers.

They deducated exactly 15% of my dividends for the Canadian WHT.

So a capital raise despite managment promising to be profitable end of 2025

and

A managment (+2 randoms) provided loan running at a whopping 15%. Jesus!

This is definitely a company I'll have to see actual profitability in first before considering a stake.

If you run the numbers on Segilola, including making an educated guess on the MLE, you will see that this already covers our current market cap minus the cash on the balance sheet. There is some exploration upside ex MLE, but I don't have a good read on that.

Then we also get end of this month a very advanced PFS on Douta an exploration project in Senegal. We hope to mine 500koz with a $150mn investment in a first phase.

Besides that there is a good possibility for a second phase Douta project where we are looking at 1mn oz+ after another $150mn investment with presumably lower margin though

Then there is all the optionality in from exploration in the Guitry, Boundiali and Marahui projects in Cote d'Ivoire.

I've been following this company for a while. There is a mismatch between what is being said and what is actually being delivered. My conclusion is that I won't invest until I see positive earnings. There are too many unknowns for me at the moment.

How exactly are PTC going uphold allegations against Evolution when the New Jersey Court ruled the report to be untruthful and the allegations to be false? Is PTC able to escalate this case to a higher court or something?

Evolution AB is going to sue for damages now. I don't know how much they can extract but market seems to be jittery.

Our cashflows and earnings are basically very front loaded and then go to zero according to the official mining plan. Naturally, this results in a low PE, but also an opportunity. If we can prove, that these earnings can be sustained for a couple more years (Segilola MLE and much later, Douta) we are looking at a re-rating.

In any case, at the current gold prices its raining money so to speak, but more cash is always better :)

Driftking27, dividends are paid from cashflows and cash on the balance sheet and not earnings.

Earnings have been down because of writing off their U.S. cigarette brands (intangibles on balance sheet) in 2023 and a charge regarding the Canadian lawsuit in 2024.

Meanwhile, cashflows have been stable and strong.

So it is now up to you to figure out whether these writedowns and charges will affect future dividend payments. Simplywallstreet and other such cookie cutter stock websites usually don't understand what is really going on in the accounts.

If you don't have access to the big british brokers, I wouldn't bother with AIM SETSqx stocks. Usually, you have to deal with Direct Market Access and dog$hit execution. Dog$hit as you don't get fills even if you bid 5%-10% above the ask.

I would either

1) get an account at HL

2) buy on the tsxv in canada (a normal stock exchange where you get to buy and sell at quoted prices)

3) Only buy ftse100 stocks

Cashflow for dividends is about 5.2bn GBP per year. Cashflow from operations minus maintenance Capex is ~9bn GBP per year.

Divi is well covered but on the higher side.

Someone bought for 12.5k GBP. I wonder what they are seeing in this stock. To me it looks like something that will head to zero with high probability (too much debt, too tight of a debt schedule)

1) it's Nigeria, an unproven mining jurisdiction in West Africa

2) lots of earnings but also short _official_ minelife

3) has exploration in its name so people think its just an explorer

What I find much more curious is that we are trading at worse multiples than some companies in Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso. These are countries which are jailing CEOs, extorting "taxes" and expropriating companies (see e.g. $waf.ax is halted for weeks now because BF wants to "buy" 35% of Kiaka).
