AS also said the market would be worth billion for 2-5 years and that hass not come to pass either.

None of this affects the outcome of trial but for those that continue to rec what statements the various AVCT directors make surely should by now be wary of what they say.

By rule of thumb is to apply "well, what else is he/she going to say". and then see if there is any real info hiding in the statement.

Well, this is what Coris was advertised as doing:

And below is ABDX

I'm fairly relaxed about the money side of things as it would be bordering irresponsible to spend money now and run out of cash at a crucial point in the trial for instance.

my thinking is that it seems inconceivable that AVCt have not had conversation with bigger players about the trial.

The fact nothing has surfaced yet leads me to believe they are waiting for (initial) confirmation of P1b results.

It does not seem to make sense to be buying companies if you are going to sell the entire company in the near future.

Therefore one or other of the divisions looks to be going out the door. In terms of timelines I think it almost has to be the TX as the overall cost and time to market makes more cash calls inevitable whereas if they get a big price for that side, it then makes them cash rich to buy out bigger and better DX companies, which fits in with their statement when they bought LD.

As I have mentioned previously when I looked at ABDX as a potential fit, what struck me from ABDX's results is the size of the DX market (£23b) which is apparently fragmented so consolidation is ripe, it would seem.

Anyway, just my musings.

From a SP pov, I still hang on for what i hope will be a potential buyer for the TX in the next 6-12 months. (I certainly did not expect to still be waiting for something to happen at this date).

Strangy, the SP is close to long term lows while at the same time progressing well in the trial.

M&A strategy's take time and money. Therefore the market may have been selling down the stock because it had heard through the grapevine that this was coming?

Of course it is speculation. Everything here is speculation .Otherwise whats the point of sharing ideas?

Laugh away, but while I naturally don't expect to get it right every time, I have a better track record of seeing whats coming then many others here.

Difficult to say anything definitive right now, but the early signs of the SP reaction indicates that the market is pretty sanguine about this purchase.

It was either already priced in (perfectly possible), or the market does not seem the outflow having any detrimental effect to AVCT funds in the short term.

I guess the potential downside is any further delays in the trial.

If DE5 is close to finishing then the news surrounding the parameters of DE6 will be quite key I think.

However on balance I think the market has already priced in the potential of DE7 given how unreliable AS statements are and news that will indicate a speeding up of the trial will be more immediately, enthusiastically received.

Muck I think AVCT simply did not have the money at this stage. There may have been a window a few months ago but with the recent appreciation of the SP, it probably pushed the buyout price beyond them. (And that obviously makes an assumption AVCT were ever looking at ABDX, however given their purchase this morning I think it reasonable to assume with their history that some conversations took place between these 2 companies.)

Clearly AVCT have a plan. At this stage I am not sure what the overall strategy is.

The obvious conclusion is that they are in a hurry to build up the DX side of the business. Without going back into ABDX etc, nevertheless that DX market is huge and fractured so presumably AVCT see this has a great opportunity for future profits.

My best guess right now is that they expect whether they like it or not, is that they are not going to be able to keep the TX side of the business due to the investment costs and the most likely offer they can't refuse from a bigger Pharma co.

So they will develop this side of the business and go that route to stay as a player in the market.

I will just add that this latest acquisition also manufacture which many said AVCT had no designs to be involved in.

I think yet again, you have to be very wary of what any CEO says and what actually comes to pass.

At this stage the big pharma's are not sufficiently sure to buy yet. (Us PI's though are prepared to take the gamble.. as you say, who would have thought, but then again we are all so well researched here it does seem a bit of a contradiction that Big Pharma isn't as clued up as we are.)

I think (and how would I know), but I tend to where I can, use the Occam razor approach to stuff.

MM's are there to make an orderly market. They may or may not hold stock at any given time but on small high risk stocks like this they (I imagine) hold little or no stock and therefore are always matching orders and sometimes it takes them a while to fulfil them if they have no stock on hand and therefore they go NT, without it being such a mystery or big deal.

I am not saying nothing nefarious ever takes place, but on the whole and most of the time I think its all fairly standard stuff in these relatively illiquid stocks. (I just don't see, given this argument is used on every BB on every stock, that every MM is deliberately breaking the law and jeopardising their lively hoods on nearly every transaction, every day, given they make money on the spread in any event.

Just my opinion though...

MrI, Traders are not responsible for every fall or hiatus in a rising SP. Remember they have to have bought to be able to sell, and if they have bought they want the SP to rise. Also there has to be an assumption that "traders" have the ability to move the SP, which none of us can know the reasons why individuals are buying or selling.

I know its stating the obvious but I just think that potential kneejerk thought process is based on faulty logic and as a result can lead to faulty conclusions and in turn leads to poor decision making.

Forgive but I am just trying to follow the logic:

If they all know about AVCT and the longer they wait the more money they will pay.... then why have they not done anything by now? (Or are they also as thick as mince?)

Events and timelines thus far, suggest to me that its about efficacy and not safety. Ergo we have still some time to go yet.

Apres expected response notwithstanding, the retrace has just about come to 10.5p . hopefully this holds and will then start the next leg up. (It was over bought at 12.5p according to the RSI.)

FYI it was originally in response to yet another at the time post, that why does the sp fall when there are so many buys.

I simply stated the incredibly obvious fact that buyers try to force the price down and sellers try to force the price up. and therefore its buyers that are forcing the price down by not agreeing to buy at a higher price that the sellers want.

The sellers for whatever reasons give in and let the buyers get in at lower prices.

I have to presume you have never negotiated with a seller when wanting to buy something.
