Regarding LW, I would just council that what he actually says as opposed to what soem posters view his motives rae, seem to me quite different.

He has, several times, expressed clearly and unambiguously his view that based on an investment risk reward basi,s he does not see a compelling argument to invest at this stage.

The criticism if him then degenerates into a belief that he does not want the share to succeed and that somehow posting his view affects the SP.

To re-confirm. His expectation not to buy based on a likely hood of a RI, was CORRECT. His current situation is that there is greater chance of failure than success is completely valid and stastistcally CORRECT.

The fact he posts at all is that he is looking for, in his view the right time to buy, based on his criteria.

As this is an investment BB, this view should be welcomed as a natural counter balance to the unavoidable echo chamber these BB's promote simply to realise there is always at least 2 options for any outcome.

Its hard, really hard, to get rich quick, but actually very, very easy to get rich slow. The problem is by the time we work that out there is not so much time (or capital) left.

I am the same, D, but my timing is rubbish. I pick stocks, expect them to go up by time x then transfer to new stock, ride that wave than transfer.... etc etc. And then you get a rig breakdown... its like they know what I am up to :0))

Yes, LG I think this was IT. It would have been too easy when the drill failed for it to have got out.

The RNS was close to 20 yesterday and today out in very oversold territory. It rallied more than I expected so is still around 20 but suggests further moves up in the short term I more liokely than falls.

The huge volume also suggests there is (still) a lot of interest in this stock and should the news be good in the future, then the rise will be perhaps greater than i was starting to think likely.

I think the news of the drill break was known ady or two before the RNS so the SP fell. Therefore when the public found out it was "old" news and therefore the drop was "false".

The trick? was to find the bottom, but 4p seemed ok to me, so 5p I think is realistic quick target

There is unlikely to be any meaning full rally today so this will have a strong oversold RSI (below 20) when it closes today so I have bought (4p) on a potential rally to 5p.

Leon, charts don't predict anything, they just give indications of what is most likely next.

No system deals with unexpected news because its... unexpected or unforecastable.

I don't see it.

Close to it so certainly a target, but a close at 130p would be very positive.

Hi Legal, HL have disabled their charts so i am flying along without them presently. Which in this stock does not matter as I decided it was a binary play a long time ago and I will just let it run.

If I was just looking at the chart I would have sold before now as it it is in a downtrend and would need to break 5.9 to indicate a reversal was underway.

There is an weak argument to buy presently as it is holding around these prices, but it could be more forcefully argued that this could more likely be a pause before further falls.

Like I say, i am not personally bothered having an amount here that I can lose and move on.

Fundamentally as someone posted earlier, if there is helium down there it is still down there now, so nothing has changed.

PJ, MM's don't fish for stock by dropping the price. All that does is stimulate buyers getting in at bargain prices to buy stock the MM's don't have.

You push the price up (it makes no odds to the MM's which way they go), to make some take their profit and then more jump on board as they want to get on the Up escaltor.

Anyway, a falling SP is not normally an indicator that all is going well....

Has the markets tolerance changed? Could it be argued (and I think it can), that with the info from the last (failed) drill)and the subsequent continuing seismic explorations and research of the interior, that there is a greater chance of success than there was previously . (it would still be more chance of failure than success I agree, but I am comparing SP now to SP then at the same stage of the drill).

I don't know what the SP would fall to waiting for a second drill after a failed first but 2p or less its a bit of a finger in the air guess.

Can't factor in point 4 as I am not sure either, both or neither of the 2 options you highlight is taking place.

It just seems off that there should be a collapse/sharp fall in the SP once spud started from an already low point

If the market lost confidence now, why didn't it earlier? How is it that with their own drill which is worth millions I think has that brought the SP to an almost all time low?

is 6p cheap? well its 5p now.

Normally the risk reward would push the SP up rather than down (in my experience) when its so close to a result, so this is quite interesting except Ocams Razor suggests that its not interesting at all, and that that the market has some inside info that there is a problem/no gas shows.

LW, this is the bit I don't get. The risk has never changed. Its always been a binary play.

The odd thing is the fact that the SP is more than 10% below a relatively attractive placing price when it is within a couple of weeks of the results coming through whilst at the same time the company is more financially secure than it has been for years with assets (Drill) and a second drill in an also very good area for success.

As I say its not the risk element because its always been there and in the recent past, allowing for dilution it was around 3 times what the SP is now at the same stage and the value of HE is a lot more than then.

It is begining to look like there is something going on as there is no logic to this continual fall other than inside news. (All I can think of tis that there have been no gas shows on the way down?)

I get Gaps, but this stock on the face of it would not fall at this stage to fill a gap. (Charts being a reflection of crowd psychology)

Anyway, it can still all come good but this to my eye very odd for a standard drill based on past valuations of the same company in the same situation.
