I think Legal, you might be over thinking it.
FWIW, Its a tricky stock to trade but if there are swings (after the spread) of 10-20% then it could be straight forward profit taking. Personally I would be surprised if this was heavily traded due to spread and erratic volatility, but hey ho, as usual I don't know.
As for leaks, I have no idea, but given that no one knows if there is a leak or not, or if there will be a leak, or there has been a leak etc etc it seems to me impossible (unless the individual really does have inside information) that just looking at volume will be that helpful.
I think the vast majority will have placed their bet and will wait for the outcome, particularly as there has been no spud SP lift or any real reason to take profits sooner.
I was only slightly pulling your leg about you itching to buy as I understand and appreciate your stance that to buy when its ultimately de-risked makes financial sense on such a risky play as this.
The fact that you post so often on the quite small swings in the SP does make me think you are looking for an excuse to get in before the results are known. Am i right?
