If they left it with a "TD achieved" and nothing else then I would expect a sharp fall in the SP

Any surprising news will alter the dynamic of a SP. The market did not forecast a rig breakdown. No system accounts for that.

But each to his own. Most traders who use charts don't get too hung up if news breaks as Money Management and the protection of capital is as important as any other factor when placing a trade.

Its all luck Andina inasmuch as no one can foretell the future but the RSI was showing it was oversold so I bought in. so at least there was some method to my admitted madness and not just buying for absolutely no reason.

Largo the statement is true. Not so many do. However I have used charts for a long time and am happy to release proportions of my trading account when target levels are met.

it seems to me that avct wanted/needed about 2 months to collate data once p1a was completed before moving forward.

my take is that at the end of de6 they had enough data to start this phase of data reporting. (presumably there is more of a reliable progression now on results and the 7th de expectations will ("simply" confirm what has gone before.)

this would fit in with a stated release this quarter, which by my back-of-a-***-packet calculation would be around the end of november by which time there will be a lot of 7 de data available to insert into the blanks left in the report to give those latest exact figures, so add a week or two for the final update on the report and we look at around early/mid december for the results and the implications for efficacy.

6-8 weeks (ish), not long now.

was the key take away for me. This is to a large part what holds back SP appreciation. If there is a likelyhood of dilution not only in there no incentive to hold the stock, but apositive dis-incentive.

If the city believe that ABDX is on a sure financial footing then I would expect furthe gains to come.

(As an aside I have a feeling the pregnancy test sales have been somewhere between disappointing and very disappointing, although as time goes by they may become increasingly the test of choice ?)

Largo, what loss? you mean the fact I bought at 141p and its 3 % lower since then? Where is my loss? I have not sold and indeed will buy more if AVCT hit 130p.

I saw it go over bought, which I highlighted, I saw a retrace level it was likely to go to. It has gone through that level and suggests it might go down further back to 130p ish.

I don't get so animated as you lot seem to.

if you are going to trade you have to commit. Given no one knows whats coming there is risk involved so it comes with careful money management. So I have left more in account to take advantage of further opportunities if they present themselves.

Its no where near as complicated or risky as you snow flakes seem to think

Anyway, I have had a good day in my other speculative stocks so all is not too bad.

(I thought at the time there would be no DE's after no 4) However as AVCT seem to have clawed back the time added in further DE's in accelerating the next bits of the trial, my expected timeline (for me) still stands.)

Well, thats all very well Chris, but I find your conceit about the knowledge any here have had in AVCT going forward laughable.

At no time in the last 3-4 years that I have read this board just about no one , ever, has ever, forecast any development ahead of time in the AVCT news cycle.

A few noticed that the LFT was unlikely to happen but other than that the posters you refer to have been dismally wrong throughout.

Some will be sitting on profits (some reasonable, some close to break even) but many will still be underwater.

I do this as a hobby to help time entry and exit. Its worked for me and I have shared but as always, each to his own.

Chris, that it is true but I use cash amounts as a measure and 10% return on a few days is always worth having.

Thats sometimes I think why some can't be bothered. They see the Doller signs of "big" money potentially to be made and don't see the drip drip of smaller bets giving back smaller, but more frequent gains.

Charting is an evolving day by day process. With the new information that the SP delivers on whatever timeline the person uses alters and changes their view.

Its a faster moving thing that LTB&H.

(It may still go to 140p by the way. who knows. Its just an odds game. People who use charts get a whole lot less worked up about them than people who don't.)

One knows, Its not that difficult to trade it.

Its been hard recently if like me you can't short it, because it has been in a down trend but last week it went to 165 from a buy in at around 130p. (it was very over bought after 155 so at 165p it was a safe bet to sell. Now, to be fair, it just kept going up so the place I saw to sell knowing the odds were in favour of a fall to catch some breath, was when it fell to back about 162p (it looked at last as though the rise had run out of steam.)

So you get back in at any level you think is worth it and you have probably secured about 10% more shares than you had before in that trade.

Yes it has a risk attached to it but all stocks have that. You just look for a trade where the odds are more in your favour then against.

What can make it seem high risk to others is their emotional attachment to the FOMO aspect of the stock.

But if you can divorce your mind away from that then there are always opportunities.
