Gizmo, I am in your line of thinking. Smart Cities are coming along. Eventually if self drive cars take to the streets then good buildings' penetration for vehicle to vehicle contacts in town will be needed. All things of the future but these do happen. In the past most advances were thoughts of others being developed.

Morning Vas.

From when I came in many, many moons, I have stayed. I treated it as an AIM although not thinking of this duration. I was mainly thinking of India although UK looked attractive when it came along purely on figures quoted. It was mainly the IPv6 that caught my attention.

In the past year JC/CC India have been splashing the cash on much larger staff levels, expensive staff in some cases and buying stock. I was not expecting any great numbers as a result.

We are all waiting for these new awards to be announced and if all the laying out of CC cash has now been concluded this next H1 should look pretty good.

Hello regtyne.. I think you can be classed as a newbie unless you want to reread all of the highs and lows, of say about 8 years. AIM was always an add-on for me as my main interest was FTSE100 and even that was a side line to keep me awake at night (another life).

In hindsight Cyan probably took a massive chance going into Smart Meters but there you go. JC saw the opportunity in India, but that and getting things done is a different matter. Everybody keeps saying how slow and archaic India is. However after going around in one circle after another CC has at last got itself into prime position as long as it does not muck it up.

Now its your lucky day, unless somebody intervenes with comments, CC is ready to go and at this precise time SP does not seem to recognise it, LOL. Best wishes.

Thanks for that Vas.. A good example, especially giving the platforms covered, virtually all from 2G upwards. Again if I am correct CC Omni can mix and match with all other meters on a circuit. Labouring the point as I do Smart Metering consists primarily of Smart Comms linking domestic electronic meters to HES. So if GoI can get enough meters manufactured, a workforce enabled, then CC is in a good position to grab possibly 50% of the market, the impetus is there.

Colour it is only idiots like us who write all this stuff, newbies probably look back half a dozen pages not 5 years or more, so it needs the likes of Vas and LTI to flash these vital bits of past information. This is AIM, the risk element is there but if you can catch the imagination then SP will take-off. DYOR

Intersting facts, esp Intellismart hackathon and LTI's reference to South India, I remember that guessing game. I think this new financing that Genus has arranged could bode well.

It will be fortuitous for us if Retrofit is considered again, I think we shelved it when GoI decided that everything had to be inside meter box.

I don't know FG25 involvement, if any, in long range transmission but there seems to only be a reference to 3km. If so CC certainly leads the way with about 10km. That is a lot of difference considering India's terrain.

LTI, I nearly always fall back to you for answers, perhaps Vas may also giveit thought.

My old chestnut, Cellular, Genus now assembles CC in their factory, so it is in our/their interest to use Omni Smart in all of their meters. So as CC can accommodate all platforms up to IoT etc why do Genus not use CC for Cellular, is it price. CC is a private cellular system which is highly secure, can mix and match with CC HES. It is Smart Comms all in one package that does not need to be messed about with using other systems.

You have probably got an answer but otherwise why did CC bother to create Cellular.

To my mind the only way to sell Smart is by offering night rates assuming households etc have the likes of washing machines. During the day to run fans etc is probably a necessity. I think JC said Night Generation of electricity is expensive, so at least it will get used.

In areas where there is a lot of meter fiddling and people have not paid a penny for say 10years it is going to come as a shock. As we know small groups can make a lot of noise and stir others. It could be a good idea if Discoms offered say a 10% discount off total bill for say first 2 years for Smart. Everybody loves a bargain. That would probably be covered by no meter readers. DYOR

It will be interesting to know exactly what CC's standing is with Genus. Someone commented recently that CC's unit production is levelling out. Is that because Genus is now producing our units in-house. Do we show them as a CC production or licence. Is CC the only Smart Comms produced on Genus site, I would think so for cost purposes.

JC had a go at this with BI, this time I think it is working.

If so everywhere that Genus wins CC also wins, then add to that our other contracts and companies like Monte Carlo for City work, to me that makes CC multi $bn company.

I'd like to say 'you know it makes sense' but someone is about to tell me otherwise, DYOR.

Hello gizmo, generally in these circumstances I would agree but India is a little bit different. It's the largest Smart market, it is full of opposing groups of society and patrons. Do not know about JBVNL but many meter fiddlers, at all levels do not want Smart, I should imagine these areas have a harder time getting underway. I have not read that Genus meters are faulty before, sabotage ?

Anyway 3 companies + one that are recognised by GoI are probably forming against a common enemy. The next question again is, if they get deluged with orders that require almost immediate starts will they be able to cope numbers wise. DYOR

Genus has been running a credit note with CC for the last couple of years.

This is a good little trio plus a money jv.

I think the trio are on a winner, the Smart world is looking for reliability with all the latest facets. Now they must hold their cool and put in their external (ROW) bids.

Looking at the Genus credit position I should imagine it would stand CC in for a longer credit line. Re Genus some say the new monetary advantage may make Genus a bit overconfident and give its partners a rough ride.

My view is Genus is the biggest MM, Intellismart has the India contacts and CC has a proved track record to date which the GoI demands. As India wants to provide its own Smart Meters yet sell to the ROW what better trio, that have confidence in one another, to go with.

We must be looking at big times ahead and soon. DYOR

admittedly, there is a lot going on. I questioned before sizes, is it do with TOTEX. If a contract is spread over 24 months in equal monthly payments would it mean smaller payments as the small contracts still span 24 months.

The 100,000 was a buy according to other BB.

There is talk again of a buy out, from Genus; I would like to see them start to buy on market up to 51>53%, giving them control and protection of supply yet be able to meet GoI need of supplying to other MM's. SP would rise but they would get in at low prices to start with.

As CC is so integrated in Genus and it has already been said it is Smart Comms that make a smart meter it would be nice if they could cite us in speeches about progress and jv's.

Not pricing or anything like that but that our Omni Comms is built on their site along with their meters. I think by now CC has got a sufficient reputation to be an advantage to Genus.

You are certainly keeping away any possible buyers. With 270m shares in circulation and Funds already in long term, it's the PI's that are changing prices (see sizes of transactions). I should not expect ITT to pull out with over 1m shares, just likes to keep SP down around his monthly SIPP buys. jake, I think explanations are necessary around changes re SMETS2.

I cannot see why with Genus etc early contracts cannot be signed or inked for CC, they must have agreed figures months ago.

I think now is the time for JC to take charge of PR, with all that is going on we should now have monthly/ 6 weekly updates from all areas including US, Middle East, Africa etc. Also CEO India should make a seperate update. Unless CC is happy with the usual slide. DYOR

Looking at sells, is it day traders, not likely. Is it someone trying to squeeze last pips out of fall before a buy. Even below BOD's 14p bonus level.

In light of these future yet permanent changes I should imagine that JC will produce a video and set out where CC stands regarding existing ans new contracts.

I note the CTO saying that ideally he would like to see a HAT covering 2G,3G,4G,5G etc. If that was futuristic thinking I think CC has that covered now.
