hardly a bet just for non-invested, really? … as one party is mr_wolfe, who says he is not a current holder, but the counterparty is IKN, who has been an exceedingly vociferous self-declared holder, and was very keen on the bet, even challenging mr_wolfe to raise the stakes after initial bet agreed.

… and truly baffling, lol, that you think people staking money on whether and when EUA might actually sell asset(s) is irrelevant to a board where people chat about whether or when EUA will ever sell asset(s), which was the main theme used to ramp the share price so excessively — it just makes you sound a bit sour, tbh.

Well, denzal used to claim that amit was a billionaire, and more recently 1982 implied (in his post about the church fete vicar), that amit is worth about £80 million. however, neither of them provided any evidence whatsoever to back up those claims.

meanwhile, my overall views about underlying value of EUA’s assets etc remain unchanged. sooner or later, s/price comes to reflect underlying value, but it can take years, eh?

yes. (but i suspect holders might not have liked it if they did.)

… would also note, just because someone is *capable* in principle of careful thinking does not mean that they then do exercise that capacity in relation to particular situations (/shares, investments, etc.). plenty of clever people do pretty daft things fairly often, and stuff like greed, pride, shame and fear often trump the ‘careful thinking’ that a pi *could* do if they kept a cool head.

but as kahneman and tversky (and plenty of folk after them) have shown, humans actually find ‘careful thinking’ way more difficult than we tend to appreciate.

Ragsrob, for sure IKN’s prediction of sale announcement by 1st september was laughable, imv, but nonetheless IKN made it, and IKN publicly and freely agreed on this chatboard to enter into a £200 bet with mr_wolfe about that (… and if I remember correctly, IKN actually asked to increase the size of the bet, after initially agreeing to wager £100 payable to a charity of the winner’s choice.)

Seamus, good investing in the round includes thinking carefully about which shares etc. to avoid, comparing relative rewards and risks between different possible investments, and decisions, sometimes uncomfortable ones, about when to bank profits / cut losses. (typically pis tend to be too quick to bank profits and way too slow to cut losses.)

“sale of assets and EUA.2 exploring other opportunities …” certainly do seem to be on their corporate *wish-list*, but hardly on their corporate *calendar* … zero commitment made by the company to any specific timelines, deadlines, closure dates, etc. that they could be measured against / held accountable for. … all just open-ended ‘manyana’ stuff from EUA.

Did anyone hear from IKN? (… although tbh can’t honestly say i give a **** whether he’s OK or not, after his very predictable failure in the bet with Mr_Wolfe.)
