RE: Test To Release24 Nov 2020 07:17
This really doesn't help the airline industry in any meaningful way, a lot of countries (spain already for starters) are going to require a negative PCR test before entry to the country. The best thing the governement can do to get airlines moving again is offer PCR tests through NHS testing, it would simply require the addition of a 'passport No' field to the certificate. As it stands a family of four wanting to travel to the Canary Islands will face a bill of £500+ before they step foot on a plane, then an additional £500 to cut the quarantine time if they are returning from an area which requires a 14 day quarantine. The government thus far has left the airline industry to fend for itself, at this rate we'll lose more carriers before the winter is out unless they step in. Interesting that the start date is 15th December (7 days + 5 Days from the 3rd of December). We may see a further anouncement on this before the end of the week.
