Hello everyone and happy New Year!
I have had a fairly good day with BAN.MI and Philips doing well in Europe and AMD and Intel in US, plus Xiaomi improvng slightly overnight on HSI. Only Puma losing a little but it was a very little.
I looked just now and thought that bodes well for tomorrow and UK markets, but looking at indexes picture not so good as only DAX and CAC up.
So what will first days trading of 2022 bring? Still could be good as the omicron is looking less virulent and past it's peak in London at least. Work absences may balance that out, we'll have to see.
Good luck all, n
S, I think in my memory Strombergs had a diaphragm in them which pulled the mixture/choke needle up and down so you would need be careful with heat. Sometimes you can use salty water to free up rusty things not sure it would apply in this case, but it works surprisingly well in the right circumstances (I used it first on exhaust brakes... where everything was ferrous maybe aluminum would not tolerate so well). I will think if I can make any other suggestions, a good soaking in something might be the answer.
Hello everyone, I am just popping by to wish you all a very merry Christmas, a happy New Year and the best for 2022.
It has been a tough year for me and many others too.
One bright spot in my year has been happening across this brigade, you are a proper good bunch, so thank you,
Nezlob
O, I see today that N91 is doing pretty good, I know you are long gone out of, but thought you might harbour an interest? Also INVP doing okay. I am wondering is their improvement might be based on South African connections and covid optimism. This is purely a Blue Cow type "I wonder".
Blimey BOO has fallen from grace. I remember when all my shares were sold at 206 as a stop loss. I was a bit aggrieved at the time as I could have sold at about 250 and then they went back up to above even that. I consoled myself with the fact they were getting to be shown as a pretty unethical bunch that I might prefer not to be invested in, despite the profitability. I always felt all the bad stuff would catch up with them but didn't really expect them to go below a £1.
For all you fashionista's here (admit it)I have money in Puma which is static at mo. and in Basic net which is BAN on Milan, pretty cool. The BAN shares have been doing pretty well, not sure where might peter out. Got them because of Superga as they are nice and Kate shops them, and maybe even Kappa being sports brand underdogs. They are ethical boys too.
S am interested in Citroen TA tales and Amazon stuff as long as Volvo not Jeff, I would look well cool in some Superga's in a Citroen Traction. Wot a fashionista who still says cool, wheres he from, bare nowhere.
Morning everyone, F1 and Boris, these are dangerous areas.
Still I was a bit upset by Lewis losing out in such a way, but it is done and you cannot argue with Max's ability and almost as deserving of winning the title. Lets leave it now. The Saudi bickering was already enough for me.
Johnson, well I'm not even starting on him!
Might get back into THG if it gets below 180, might get a bunch of TWD if it doesn't, will wait and see.
Good day everyone.
Morning, pretty nice day here in south Oxon land.
I want to point out my daughter is actually working and earning a living, when I said she isn't actually "out earning" the emphasis was on the out, she's working from home. She's actually doing 1st month of a graduate placing of 3 months at Thomson Reuters, if she can land that permanently she will be made up! So will I as she can pay for the boiler.
O, I like the birth pun or was it a kind of Freudian?
No wonder PM can't remember parties, having a daughter today after PMQ yesterday that's proper pressure. We lot are lucky we only have the covid to worry about, no need for parties. Lucky my daughter done with university and now out earning (course she isn't out earning, she's holed up in my London flat messing up the central heating boiler). Lost my little job when I was off for my mums funeral etc., not quite as bad as it sounds as I was saying all along I didn't want it permanently, but wouldn't have minded for a little while longer. Still have some new well paying work lined up in January, so I can pay for my share dealing **** ups. Sold some THG I bought on Manday, how close is that to day trading, for me very! Sold some INVP as a bit of a hedge against market fall. Might sell some more stuff tomorrow will see. Have been missing you all a bit, but still not clear headed. Hope you all are and trading well etc.,

Hey, I am thinking I will come back into the brigade next week after a period of I dunno what, but anyway here I start.
Welcome back m and S and even T, nice you are here TD. I have been half keeping up with things but have now forgotten most of it. Lot's of ups and downs with my shares of late, though they be mostly down today. AMD has done great. Sold some INVP I did as a sort of day trade, my sort of day trade being buy and wait, a day, a week, a month and maybe more, it's usually or more till I get a profit I am happy with. My only share up today that I can maybe sell on Monday is Croda, I might just do that. The last bit in the time of Covid the market did a fair bit of dithering before eventually crashing big time, will it again. I don't know, will see but maybe I will begin a bit of belated hedging. It's a funny thing thing I now lose more in a day like today (since I started this shares trading biz) than I might have dreamt of having 30 years back. I don't think I treat it as "SO WOT" but it is just how it is! What will happen next week? Nezlob te se you lot!
Lost my mum last week after the last 5 years here caring for her.
I am so sad, and my wife is lost w as her life this last 5 years has been constantly looking after mum.
Wouldn't change the fact we've been here and careing but it is tough, tougher than you ever imagine.
Hi, everyone posts have been getting a bit thin on the ground. Still V, O and N have been holding things up at least. I need to trail back through things as have been busy working and on other things. Shares have been up and down but quite well up this week which is good.
Hope everyone is okay, including the absent friends. And hope things have been going well for your investments and wish you all a good weekend.

Morning everyone, was walking dog a littel earlier and it was a beautiful day, now I look out and it is gloomy.
Let's hope that's not a sign for my portfolios which I haven't looked at yet!
My tech US shares all down this week mainly Intel and AMD, I might have bought back a few AMD which I sold some at 111, but after exchange rate even though 101 they were effectively little different. BB. in similar situation.
Bit disappointing that, but really have no money to do anyway, would have had to dip into savings proper to finance.
Heard about Wetherspoons on R4 earlier N, thought that did not sound good.
Nothing much else happening, still not sold ENT, am uncertain whether to hang on for a bit (more).
Perhaps todays viewing will bring some joy, will see soon.
Good day everyone.
Evening everyone, it is the end of the week. Today knocked a bit off my fairly good values gained this week.
Haven't done any trading at all, had chance to take profits on BB. and ENT, missed highs on both and still sat on.
Not exactly intentionally just not had time to consider and sell!
N I think I would be happy with even one day trade as long as it was profitable, I just cannot get into them despite hanging around this board. Your post made me think do you guys have level 2 so you watch instantaneous prices. I have never bothered not seeing it as an advantage or good for my eyesight.
Oh well that's another week over, hope you all had a good one.
F1 weekend, another Max and Lewis crash maybe? Would be nice if they don't and we see a race!
Did okay today I have a chunk of ENT which with a few lesser successes made up losses and a bit, over yesterday.
Still no money to invest, maybe sell some Entain to finance, but waiting a bit to see where it ends up.
Good night and luck for tomorrow everyone.
Good evening, shares well down, but slightly better than worst point today. My portfolio much worse than wifes so a bit more levelling up going on here even if accidental.
Did not buy any Intel as found only had £180 spare cash left in ii account as i had spent most of it on regular investments last week.
That's it from me as work now for 3 days and not so much time for watching shares fall.
Have a good week
Morning N even though it is afternoon. Did not want to leave you alone in the posting game, though not much to say. My portfolios are getting hammered quite a bit same as you. Am hoping things don't turn more ugly. Have very little left to invest too, might get some INTC this afternoon if they drop a bit, but that will be all till I can sell something.
Yeah where is everybody, T has not posted for over a week, he was always the most definite and reliable for a morning briefing. m has been quiet for a long time I like his humour am missing that. I think O, V and S are sporadic, so about I guess? Maybe they are recovering from a hectic weekend. Still I am here!!!!!
Morning weekend weather worked out pretty nice after all, a chance to get on with autumn preparations in the garden, mainly hedgecutting.
Max and Lewis messed up again, so McClaren had a 1 2 which was good, shame not Norris winning, still. Emma Raducanu great win, and almost feeling sorry for Djokovic after his defeat! And Ronaldo scoring 2 goals on return, good weekends sport.
S DNLM divivdend going ex is a special 65p, they also have a div atr 23p going ex next month, so are paying out handsomely.
N I generally would not sell when shares fall that I expedcted and still expect to go up. But hanging on means you can't do anything else to you get that rise, which can be long!
Yellow Cake going crazy today, would have liked to have time to build up a bigger piece of that cake so am pleased but wish it had been steadier. Nice week everyone
Hi all, I feel I should write something but don't have much to report.
I started work at this little specialist college this week, which was okay. What they do is take what are termed "challenging" kids from local schools and give them some tuition in work type things, like motor mechanicking, construction etc. etc. The schools never sent us the students in the main, so it was a week of sitting around and assessing previous work and planning for this term. As it is largely practical that we like to deliver this does not take lots of time so it was a bit boring. Next week should be full steam ahead so hopefully will be better, more interesting, and hopefully not too "challenging".
Not much done on shares, portfolios' have drifted down this week. Not sure I have had many disasters though or stunners either. Still catching up as I am doing on your chat.
Good weekend everyone, I will be watching some F1 and that super tennis player Emma Raducanu, weather looking like it won't be all that..
