The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
Just a couple more points for you madpunter, your video of talkradio was largely party political by a conservative mayoral candidate. Do you really think he would do anything but knock SK. Talkradio is not a Khan fan either.
Your statista information on knife crime has pretty much the same trends as the whole of UK, if anything it is not as extreme in variation. Is this also Sadiq Khans fault of might it have something to do with central government, for the last 11 years being run by Boris and Shaun?
Sorry madpunter you may be right and as I have already said I don't particularly care for Khan, I do have an opinion on Boris it is not great.
I would never vote for either or for there parties, so maybe that is the welsh in me, my fathers voted so I vote.
Only joking, I never had a father, nor am I Welsh!
Whatever! I visit Wales too so know all about you lot and the geordies!
Still you don't get to vote for London mayor, I do, so my opinion is more important than yours even if that is the only reason.
The problem is with mayors is they are dependent to a degree on central government, so for Boris and Red Ken it was easier to deal with their own parties.
Khan has had no such luck so is often at odds there. He also is not so lucky with the press, where you get all your info..
Fairly indifferent day for me, INVP has not paid off at least as yet. DNLM which looked to be a lucky move instead of ENT has slipped and ENT done ok. FGP keeps quietly rising, though USbsale in jeopardy not sure where that will take it, but looks like no special div, still it may not be a bad thing. ANTO making a bit of ground back.
2 p/f's up and one down makes it a little bit down overall for me. Probably evenish for week I am not that dedicated to record it all.
Monaco GP this weekend which is always exciting even if the race sometimes isn't. Be interesting to see how Ferrari's do.
Football tonight, Oxford looking to be knocked out of div one play offs sadly.
Good weekend all, n
Madpunter, you may know about Wales and even a bit of the north east. But to say Boris did well for london as a Londoner I don't think he did all that. To pin knife crime on Khan is just not right, you've been listening to Trump. Do you blame Boris for the 2012 riots?
Khan may well be a slippery Labour boy but TFL has improved under him. Boris may well be a slippery Tory, TFL and Olympics were okay under him. There is not much else for normal Londoners that they effect and I don't like or trust either.
Morning, dull weather preceding what looks to be a dull day. Hard to define anything yet.
N ... you maybe should keep your hopes up for ABF, clothes sales were up 70% in April, and even a small drop in online from 34% to 30%. Surely that should mean it was good month for Primark?
Waiting for reaction from INVP, in vain by the looks of it!
Have a good day everone
m .. my wife has no idea what am doing with her shares (and her money...which she tries to spend before I can invest it)!
I would not treat anything said here as advice... haha!!
I am not a young folks and no longer in FE when I knew what such stuff might been when directed at me, so had to ask daughter about Rofl?
N I did ISA investing transf. recently ironically wifes again, took what seemed forever certainly was 5-6 weeks. From EQI to interactive.
Another UK day ended, been reasonably good for me.
CWR coming back a good bit, INVP shaping up like it might have been a good idea, several long termers putting on 2 or %.
C ... TSCO not fallen all that much, not even dividend equiv. yet, will see if it holds tomorrow, I kept my (wifes) holding intact so am hoping for opposite to you. Also have CNA and VOD in wifes p/f, it's where I stick all my csdi's. Am at a loss what to do with CNA, am thinking VOD is a good bet to come back though and added a little.
My US stuff looking alright AMD and BB (Canadian almost us) and Xiaomi my HK foray done good too.
Sold BARC from my short term trading fund at no profit at all. Bought Investec at just under 290.
INVP have upped guidance for results to be announced tomorrow.
Doesn't seem to have been that much of a reaction to that, am hoping will be tomorrow when full figures are out.
Was going nowhere with the BARC on this short term anyway.
Still have long term holding on BARC in wifes p/f. undecided on what I will do with that, despite advice from T and my own wish to sell more significant amounts.
Morning, grey day here and everywhere damped up when walking the dog.
Decided to risk adding a few more Vodafone, hope for either a quick return, or more likely hang on for div and see where it goes from there. Had to decide between VOD and TWD as only enough for one of, I wonder if TWD has further to fall, I'll see if this was good idea in due course.
Nothing else to report, Trainline has had a bit of a bounce and could have been good for a quick profit, still not really me that sort of stuff.
I guess only hope for them now is if the Make Great Bitish Rail Again wants to buy them for their website, goodwill etc.
Not a great day for me though it was worse mid afternoon. Only DNLM properly up although AMD is doing okay in US.
Took some CWR and VOD post falls in my regular invests on interactive.
ANTO came back a little late on but has been a disaster for my daughters little portfolio last 3 days.
O .. I am still in N91 which is going along nicely with a reasonable dividend am happy with it.
FGP hanging in there, still hoping for the special div.
Nice evening everybody,
n the zlob
One more thing to mention. I recently transferred a portfolio from EQI to ii, it was an ISA and took a while, it was a pain. There are times in this process where you cannot trade as things are not always aligned. In the end it was all sorted out and okay but was not easy on the mind. I suspect this is the same most platforms so just be aware it will not be speedy.
Maybe if you not in an ISA will be better?
I use interactive investors, which is if you pay subs 19.99 a month UK trades are 3.99, you get 1st 2 free, other trades are cheap too. I am sure there are more out there similar fee's. You can pay less subs at ii and pay more for trades, you have plan options.
I worry about some platforms that claim to be free, but perhaps they are.
I looked at Fineco recently and though I can't remember what it was something was too complicated about it, I think as it was not UK based. But look at them before you decide it might just have been me.
The last tab on this site shown as trading, has many brokers listed with an idea of what they charge, so is worth a look.
