SOLG has always held its AGM at this time of year.
There's nothing wrong with it as long as all rules are followed. Everybody gets the same notice and an opportunity to vote.
Last years AGM was 22/DEC/2022 FYI
“In connection with the upcoming SolGold (LSE & TSX: SOLG) Annual General Meeting ("AGM"), to be convened on 22 December 2022, SolGold would like to remind all shareholders to vote on the resolutions put forth for the upcoming AGM.”
Bbg, forever the optimist.
It could also be to bury bad news over the Xmas period. The boards full of optimistic gullibles.
Or in you case bbg. Fantasist, optimistic gullibles.
Adikt. Surely even you must question the reason behind it. SURELY
Buying time perhaps for some news on the permit front (?)
No sensible organisation has such important meetings so closed to Christmas.
GGP is moving up, we aren’t so not expecting any good news anytime soon. We haven’t had any meaningful news in years. Kept in the dark with our pants down and Nicky boy breathing on our backs. What a life he had lived at our expense. Well played St Nick, 8p.
Enjoy your Christmas and coal.
There won’t be any JVs or any route to production, if that was the plan it would have happened by now
It’s obvious what the outcome is
One of the first signs of madness Quady, addressing yourself and then talking to yourself
Yes redknight1, but they've done very little about it in the last 12-24 months.
Sure, permits take a while to obtain. But you can't have 'hooray, only $1m operational costs a month' and developing priority prospects at the same time.
One of my annoyances about last 12 months performance is that £5m or so couldn't be earmarked for Helipuerto or another priority regional. Even if it meant some dilution (1% when MCap was £500m) or giving some away as a JV?
Completely echo rcgl2's thoughts.
Most of the links that get posted are from obscure websites or poorly tranlsated from Spanish. I recall one recently that was a regional community website sponsored by Texaco or some other petroleum company with interests in the area.
Yet still people went giddy about the 'imminent news'.
If there is news, you can be sure Govt / Mining Ministry and SolGold Comms (if they still have people) will be very busy on social media and RNSs.
SM - it was with unease that I first read the news of the AGM being moved back to 20th Dec. That kind of move, in my many years (not greatly successful) of observing Market Shenanigans, is normally to create fewer ripples when releasing bad news, admittedly more so with RNSs than AGMs. Many 'City' types have already flown to their festive hangouts and the few that are left will be drifting away on the 21st or in the pub early doors on 22nd and doing SFA until 2nd/3rd January.
Hope my wariness is unfounded and wouldn't it be great if our own dear old St Nic (NM) could don the red suit and unload a sack full of goodies for us on the 20th.
Remember SOLG has a great prospect right alongside Solaris' Warintza...
PS Thanks again DBW. We miss Hubrishunter on here...
Most of these articles are written by junior hacks who just seem to do a bit of cursory online research, grab a couple of quotes and stick it all into their piece. I guarantee every one of us who follows Solg and this forum will know way more about Solg than the authors of the majority of these sorts of articles.
If you want my two p it's just referring to Solgold, but is poorly phrased. Clearly Solg is investing into the Cascabel project as they have mandatory spending (investment) commitments they have to meet as part of the development phase. And Solg inked the preliminary agreement earlier this year. The "also" I take to mean in addition to whatever agreements have been signed re Warintza and the preliminary agreement reached in July 2023 re Mirador which is specifically mentioned above.
If Jiangxi had signed an agreement with Ecuador to fund Cascabel I really don't think this obscure 7 paragraph article is how investors would be finding out for the first time...
It's remarkable that virtually every time the company appears in the press, or issues an RNS, the news is always ambiguous and open to various interpretations.
I wonder if they do it deliberately to keep us on our toes?
Thanks for the nudge Shippy...
It would be great if someone could share Scott CALDWELL's email address.
Added a few more here on the drop this morning. Wonder if there was anything in them moving the AGM back a week.
Oh dear our most unintelligent poster on here keeps on providing proof that he is even more unintelligent than I thought.
He could try understanding what is being said.
But as he has constantly shown, that is probably beyond him.
Can someone please share Crawfords email address
No confusion here. The focus of the article is specifically on the Chinese and their role as investors in Ecuador. Consequently, the investor mentioned in the section on Solg is Jiangxi, not solg. The author specifically mentioned Jiangxi in order to reinforce the extent and scope of the Chinese investment interests in Ecuador. Solg don't have enough cash to keep the lights on after Q1, why would they be signing up to expenditures of up to U$5B? The subject of this are the Chinese. Dear I say it, Warren has always stated that he believes that the Chinese will be the buyer. I agree, the company should clarify. If there are legs to this story, I know how I will be voting:)
Excellent article DBW. This might yet influence how I vote at the upcoming agm:)
Yes, the manipulation is still on, but I do not know if it is for their own benefit ( selling when is at high and buying at the low ) or is to keep the price low and accumulate.
Yes "redknight1" there is a narrow spread, that got large once the share price did reach the bottom, but now they do not let it go, despite volume the last 3 trading days.

From July this year, apologies if already been posted.

It’s nothing new it’s just the agreement rehashed
If you’re writing a brochure for your country you’re keen to say $5bn will be invested in this or that
It doesn’t change the fact that nothing is agreed
Good work , DBW . It’s quite clear the government aren’t going to sit around and watch Solg and potential buyers sit and stare at each other indefinitely . Their term of office ends about the same time as construction is about to begin . The waiting’s nearly over...
I'm happy to be wrong. It's hardly the best writing either way - was it translated from Spanish?
