My understanding re appraisal drilling was that as part of the £1.5 capex and associated drilling required to get the field on line, they will be having another poke at Isobel to properly understand exactly what she contains.

Forgive me if I have misnterpreted your post in respect of future appraisal drilling and you are not referring to Isobel and Isobel deep.

I do find it bizarre that anyone would sell a single share in Rockhopper at the moment.

Oil is $82, FID end of the year on the back of finance being agreed, Ombrina Mare Feb, sanction next June, drilling commences as part of development of the field at which point we probably prove up another 0.5 billion barrels!

All the technical indicators have switched to a Strong Buy. Bullish Harami should be attracting the attention of the algos so expect some bot interest.

Why on earth you would equate the price on a discovery with the kind of earnings the oil will deliver once production commenced is beyond me. Perhaps it simply serves to demonstrate your apparent limited knowledge and understanding of how companies are priced so here’s a helping hand.

30k barrels of oil to Rockhopper a day with a break even of $35 means $40 per barrel profit or $1.2m profit per day. That’s $432m profit per annum or earnings per share of 96 cents or let’s call it 80p.

Even a PE of 7 ie a 50% discount to the market makes it worth £5.60.

Add in Isobel, Obrina Mare and an oil price above my assumed $75 for oil and this goes inexorably higher.

I would say that we’re probably in the stealth phase with a move into the awareness stage set to take place in the next 6 months.

Regarding financing, assuming FID by end of year and sanction mid 2019, there won’t be a need to go to the market in my opinion. Dilution is also the last thing that the board would want.

Rockhopper would be able to secure bank borrowing for their commitment if required secured against the project.

So under the Treaty, any lawsuits do not take place in ordinary courts. Under the ECT corporations can sue governments before an international tribunal of three private lawyers. These tribunals have the power to order states to pay billions of taxpayers’ money to compensate investors, including for the alleged impact on company profits of laws that aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, make energy affordable, or reverse failed privatisations.

Rckhopper’s case is mentioned on a number of occasions given items relevance and the likelihood that they will win their case and substantial damages. Bear in mind that the paper is written by an author who is against the Charter because of the power that it gives companies like Rockhopper.

I happen to believe that with oil at current prices, they could walk away with $200m dollars due to the potential lost profits element, however anything above $100m will be fantastic as it sorts out our finances and ensures there is no need to raise any cash going forward.

Have to disagree on this muzzletoff which hopefully you will see as a positive.

The republic of Italy were fully signed up to a legally binding treaty. Once the 3 arbitrators have come to a decision (and the case has got a lot of coverage in Italy) they will have 28 days to pay or risk having assets seized under international law.

Trust me they will pay and fast once the judgement is made. There's no messing around under this kind of World bank sponsored action. You can't give a company a license to do something, watch them plough millions into it and then move the goalposts without repercussions. Its why contract law exists.

Forgive me if you are aware but the way it works with a small AIM stock like Rockhopper S an investor who wants to pick up say 500k share will go to the Market Makers and set what they want atone at what price they are willing to pay.

The Market Maker then has various ways to fill th trade and remember, that’s all they’re Interested in doing is getting the stock for the client and taking their cut. Sometimes they’ll drop the price to trigger stops. Sometimes they’ll raise it if they can’t get stock and the buyer is willing to pay the higher price to get in.

This is why you see these big uncrossed trades often at the end of the day.

Ignore that. Wrong board. Apologies.

Seems to happen every day. They drop the price to trigger any sells and mop up the stock and then it recovers. Technically 34p is support so I wouldn’t want it to drop through that.

Market Makers are probably manipulating this for someone in the background whilst volumes are low and they can get away with it.
