Borgo…..did you by chance used to write the clues for 3-2-1 hosted by Ted Rogers with Dusty Bin in the 80’s?
It was one of the most baffling game shows ever made. The cryptic clues, the themed sketches, and the sheer unpredictability of what the contestants would end up with—it was a whirlwind of chaos wrapped up in a Saturday night spectacle.
Ted Rogers' lightning-fast hand gesture became legendary, and Dusty Bin was possibly the most disappointing prize in TV history. One minute, you think you've won a dream holiday or a brand-new car, the next, you’re going home with an actual dustbin.
Trying to follow the logic behind some of the clues was like cracking a government code. “Take one that never changes, add a pub and a precious stone, bring them all up to date…”—you’d be sure it meant a luxury trip, only to find out you’d just rejected a five-star holiday and won a tin opener instead.
It was pure 80s TV madness, and for those who understood it—well, you probably deserved a job at NASA.
