RE: The concert21 Dec 2018 22:29
Optimist, I think it may take some time to refine their business model, afterall YouTube, iTunes, Spotify et al were not born in a day, the idea behind them yes, that came in an instant, but how to present it, how to make money from it, and so on, that takes time to refine.
It may be the VR finds huge sales in VR gigs by mega stars in stadiums, but on the othe hand it may be that VR finds huge sales in;
Gigs in small theatres by mega stars that are local to where they live (reduces their touring work, but still reaches their audience)
Short live performances by the numerous demographically niche stars, like Liam Payne (to market the medium to new users to gain long term consumers)
Specially produced and recorded live perfomances by the numerous music stars around the world, as they continue to learn how to present performances in the medium (the cash cow)
We will, in time, see specially produced VR experiences married to music specially written by "new VR performance stars"
You might find adaptations of historic film (computerised VR'ing) of deceased performers, their recordings are still owned by the companies that MVR is signed up with.
Then there is the whole social avatar concert thing where you "sit" with your social network friends.
Just some Friday evening thoughts.
Who knows what is to come, other than an exciting ride.
