Albi - my understanding is that MVR has signed deals that give exclusive rights to record live in VR for the record labels mentioned in the RNS's, in the live venues mentioned in the RNS's, and then exclusively distribute those recordings in the territories, again mentioned in the various RNS's, via whatever channel they choose, such as YouTube, or their own App.
The exact number of live venues that they have sewn up is not known, but includes such venues as the O2 and 70 something festival venues, plus any non regulated venues such as they may agree with the artist/record company.
The distribution channels are currently their App, or third party channels such as YouTube.
So, for example, if you see a VR recording of artist that is signed to Universal Records performing at the London O2, then you ARE watching a MelodyVR recording and whoever is showing you that performance IS paying a licence fee to Melody.
If you are watching on an Occulus device using the Melody App, then they will also get a proportion of the revenue from any adverts that Occulus show in association with their recording, this can be up to 45% of the revenue.
We have all seen the growth of adverts being pushed into our YouTube videos, and Facebook, Occulus and Melody's App will be no different for VR - this is a huge source of revenue and enables all the "free" stuff that we see on YouTube and the like.
TheWave are one, of what I believe will be countless, visual video art providers that work in the VR field to provide VR experiences.
The best visual artists will be paid a fortune, either as independents or by companies such as TheWave and MelodyVR, to produce their visual experiences.
A good question is which medium will turnout more lucrative.
