Personally, I think that CyanConnode has still got some way to go yet, both in India and with global development, before they consider selling the Company. Or I hope they have, but who knows. If they receive an approach from anyone and their pockets are deep enough and the deal is right, who knows what may happen.

But I do not see it happening, hopefully, just yet.

It is encouraging that the Directors are leading the way with still further investment, through the Placing and Subscription. And that " The net proceeds of the Fundraising will be used to further strengthen the Company's balance sheet, to fund long lead time critical components and to fund resourcing required to manage the scale-up of the Company."

With all the contracts that have been Awarded over recent months and also recently, it is a positive move for the further potential expansion and growth of CyanConnode, I feel.

Good morning all,

It certainly is good news for Genus, with the confirmation of an order for circa 2.7 million smart meters. Thank you for sharing.

The report also confirms that Genus Power currently holds a 27% market share and also again confirms in the report, that Genus Power has a 10 million meter installed capacity, spread over 3 manufacturing plants.

So we wait until the contracts are distributed to the various sub-contractors, which may be early next year. But good news in general. At least initial progress is being made, with the tenders being Awarded.

CyanConnode has been winning these Awards, since 2015. The 2017 Award that you pointed out was UK focused, I believe. But the Grant Thornton achievment is not an Award, as such. It is a ranking system. But still a significant achievement, for the CyanConnode Group, for their achievments in India.

And a quick browse at some of the general history, as to the development of Cyan/CyanConnode over the years, especially in India, may give you some idea as to the rationale behind the choice.

......... and others, we hope, tonyj, will contribute varying and differing quantities of smart meters at different times, as the India Smart Meter Roll-Out gathers pace and the REC Empanelment List qualifiers pick up various tenders.

It is too soon to say, I feel, who is going to pick up what with any degree of accuracy. There maybe some suprises around the corner. Who knows.

There are many local and international big hitters involved in the process, that have yet to be publicly recognised as being part of the India Smart Meter Programme. In my view, anyway.

They didn't qualify just to be part of the Empanelment List.

The increases in the number of smart meters that were Awarded, that I can find, happened in:-

Andhra Pradesh - APSPDCL + 331,510, Chhattisgarh - CSPDCL + 2,608,545, Jammu & Kashmir - JPDCL + 721,346, Uttar Pradesh - DVVNL + 2,904,465, Uttar Pradesh - KESCO + 625,000.

Making a total uplift in the number of meters Awarded of 7,190,866, since the 20th October, 2023 figures were published.

A good month I would say. We now have to wait to see where these contracts land - main contractor wise - and to which sub-contracters they will filter-down too.

EESL are a possibility, as you have suggested, but also not forgetting CyanConnode's recent Partner addition, namely Alfanar, who I have posted information on previously.

There may be others eventually, but these two are high on the list for some kind of involvement at some time.

As far as India and Cellular are concerned, the contract in Southern India, finally confirmed on 6th January, 2020, contains a reference to a " .....hybrid RF Mesh and Cellular communications platform ...... " and also the contract confirmation on 7th September, 2020, for MPWZ, also contains a reference to " ...... both RF Mesh and Cellular enabled meters."

So the RF/Cellular option for clients/meter manufacturers/Partners has been available for a number of years now.

It would seem that 2 Sanctioned projects have been dropped. Both projects are in Harayana - DHBVNL for 4,165,618 smart meters and UHBVNL for 3,240,000 making a total reduction of 7,405,608 smart meters.

The overall October 2023 Achievement, came in at 245,606, for the calender month, from what I can make out. An increase of 117,819 since the last update on 20th October, 2023, which showed 127,787 meters installed at that time.

Steady progress is being made.

...... stats report, published on 1November , 2023 shows that the Awarded number of smart meters went up from 79,972,794 on October 20th, 2023, to 87,163,670 on 1st November, 2023.

We wait now to see which sub-contractors the Awarded smart meters filter-down down to.
