These Directors Talk Interviews are notorious for reproducing Vas. But I have managed to find the original and have provided some passeges from the original. But thank you for sharing:-

So I would say that CyanConnode has had a very proactive year, this year so far. I might go as far as to say, a successful year. All it needs is for the good news, to start to reflect into the share-price - which will eventually happen - and the wind will begin to change to a more favourable direction.

No problem, jake. I do not doubt that CyanConnode recognised the wealth of knowledge and experience that Ratna Garapati has and could bring to CyanConnode. But I would also think that Ratna Garapati also saw something in CyanConnode, that was worth the risk in making the transition from very influential companies like Trilliant and Fluentgrid.

CyanConnode, at the time, were and still are developing as a Company. But CyanConnode have become a major contributor over the years, to the India Smart Meter Programme, specifically in the provision of RF solutions. In my opinion.

But a major contributor, I feel, in the advancement of CyanConnode, has been the introduction of Silicon Labs/Wi-SUN solutions and the upgrade by CyanConnode to Silicon Labs FG25.

The significance is also mentioned by John Cronin in the presentation I mentioned yesterday, at 11:22.

We hope that CyanConnode are heading into a period of positive news-flow, as far as contracts being Awarded are concerned. There have been a number of tenders that have moved from being Sanctioned to Awarded recently, along with the others that have been Awarded over the last few months.

So I am quietly but confidently optimistic, for the rest of the Financial Year and beyond.

If I can start with your last paragraph first and see where it leads us. Another way of looking at the situation is that CyanConnode do not need more meter manufacturers. The AMISPs need more meter manufacturers to choose from, that are Empanelled, to get the smart meter contracts started and completed. Is the way I see it.

To give you a better idea of who CyanConnode are involved with ( at the time ) from the Zeus - Solid Outlook report, dated 26th July, 2023.

" In India, CyanConnode is the largest and most experienced provider of RF Mesh Communication Solutions, for Advanced Metering Infrastructure ( AMI ). CyanConnode has been active in India since 2009 and executed the first Smart Metering project in 2014. The Company is well positioned with Advanced Metering Infrastructure Service Providers ( AMISP ). 45 AMISP/Prime Contractors have registered interest in RDSS smart meter tenders. As of January 2023, 31 of these are empanelled and eligible for participation in tendering under RDSS, with all 45 likely to be empanelled over time. CyanConnode supports over half ( 16 ) of empanelled AMISPs ( 31 ) and is integrating its technology into nine new meter types and can provide technology to all empanelled providers."

So the information provided was as it was in July 2023. I believe there were 51 companies on the last REC Empanelment List, that I posted. So an increase from the 45 quoted by Zeus in July 2023.

The increased R&D investment for CyanConnode, as I see it, is to service the additional meter manufacturers that have successfully been integrated onto the Empanelment List.

And remembering that not all AMISPs are meter manufacturers. And I seem to remember reading somewhere that each meter manufacturer, supplies 3 different meter types. A Single Phase Meter, a 3 Phase Meter and a Poly Meter.

So there is a substantial amount of integration work to be carried out on these meters, to warrant the " .... additional engineers to integrate its modules with multiple smart meter models, from a broader range of manufacturers."

" Investment:- The plans for AMISPs, which are the project operators, to source smart meters from a broader range of suppliers requires CyanConnode to employ additional engineers to integrate its modules with multiple smart meter models from a broader range of manufacturers. R&D work is also required to complete additional features such as Gateway 7 ( a dual SIM, IPv6 Gateway ), the WiSUN interoperable standard, which is soon to become a mandatory requirement that could differentiate CyanConnode from competitors. Another development project is a Unified Head End System ( UHES ). This enables the platform to connect via RF, third-party cellular, Narrowband Internet of Things ( NB-IoT ) and PowerLine Communication, connecting gas, water, street lighting and EV Charging networks. We estimate these investments total £3.0m in FY24 and £1.8M in FY25, half of which is capitalised and amortised over five years."

A comprehensive list of developments that CyanConnode want to integrate into their Omnimesh solutions.

..... " Investing in Growth " report, gives an encouraging write-up on the reasons for the additional funding requirements, as CyanConnode need to plan for the additional number of smart meters that will be required. Plus some additional R&D work is required for additional features.

A " non-feature " is that CyanConnode be required to employ additional engineers to fit/integrate the Omnimesh Modules into different smart meter models, which in itself, is encouraging.

A Placing for expansion, is different to a Placing for survival. In my opinion.
