I seem to remember John and Heather including these time-lines in a presentation that they did about 12/15 month's ago, which indicated a time of between 3/6 months from when the contract is Awarded, to when the news begins to filter down to sub-contractors. Depending on how many sub-contractors are involved and how big the contract is.

But it may also depend on how they want to prioritize each contract. But when the contracts start to flow, it could be very interesting indeed.

Sarawak Energy has a smaller customer base of circa 750,000 customers and are progressing from a successful pilot in 2019, from conventional meters to smart meters.

Tenaga National Berhad, or TNB, is a good place to start and seems to be the largest electricity utility, with a smart meter programme totalling 9.1m households. The smart meter roll-out was started by TNB, in 2016, with an initial target for roll-out completion by 2021. This has been extended to 2026.

Good afternoon Vas and all,

As there are 5 regions mentioned, plus a Special Category and the " Bidders will be empanelled in 18 groups spread across the country ..... " this suggests that it could be what I think they refer to, as a " Pan-India " Smart Meter Tender.

This will be a true, legistical challenge.

Also I cannot see a break-down for the number of Smart Meters required per region, so that will eventually come out at a later date.

S. Chari seems to have increased the number of shares they hold, by 121,270, but their percentage share-holding in CyanConnode has gone down to 6.43% from 7.04%. Presumeably because of the dilution and the fact that their previous share-holding has dropped below the 7% threshold.

But is is good to see and to get confirmation.

..... published on 15th November, 2023, confirms that the number of Awarded smart meters went up to 88,202,789 and the number of smart meters installed during November 2023, so far, is 164,794.

So steady progress is being made towards the end of the year.

But who the end-customer or customers will be, should CyanConnode be successful is yet to be revealed, as you would expect. But it is an interesting prospect.
