As I understand it, your perception of the recent Genus contracts and any other recent contract wins, from any other Prime contractors/League 1 contractors/AMISP's contractors, it may indeed be Christmas/New Year before they " trickle-down " to the appropriate sub-contractors.

Also I do not recall any sub-contractors from the October 9th, 2023 Genus order being made public, at this stage.

The Trading Update, as you have indicated, was very upbeat, with ( One of the Period Highlights ) - " 1.4 million Omnimesh modules ordered by IntelliSmart Infrastucture Pvt. Ltd. ( IntelliSmart ) for three new utility customers."

So three new customers of CyanConnode's Omnimesh Modules have been confirmed via the IntelliSmart Strategic Framework Agreement.

The share price drop could be down to many differnt things or global issues. But the delay from the awarding of any contract to the Lead Bidder, to the confirmation to the sub-contractors, does not help.

If investors feel as though there may be a 3/4 month delay, until after Christmas, before there is any news concerning CyanConnode, they may decide to park their money, or use their money, elsewhere.

It is human nature.

I do not know that they are going to get into smart meters, as you suggested.

Although say, if a Chinese infrastucture company decided to go into an area that under the present restrictions, such as smart meters, may put their potential infrastructure projects at risk, for a potential revenue contribution that was a fraction of the overall contract value.

I would suggest that is not a good business strategy overall.

As I have understood it, the ban on Chinese companies by India, is on the grounds of national security, with tech companies coming under increased scrutiny.

Infrastructure companies are in a different market and probably do not qualify for the same level of scrutiny as tech companies do.

It is the companies/international companies that the infrastructure companies employ on Indian projects, that also need to be vetted, while these restrictions are in place

Trade still exists between India and China, but there are restrictions and limitations to the trade that is done nowdays, to the trade that existed a few years ago.

All in my opinion, of course.

Some very interesting and experienced infrastructure companies/developers, that CyanConnode are Partnering with and not forgetting that the infrastructure companies have the confidence to Partner with CyanConnode also.

So as I have mentioned before, a very schrewed business decision to get in at a different level of the contract, not just at the smart meter end. In my opinion, of course.

Lets see how these relationships develop, as we progress.

CyanConnode recently received an order from IntelliSmart, on the 9th August, 2023, for 500,000 Omnimesh Modules for a project for the Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd ( MGVCL ) utility, as part of the Strategic Framework Agreement with IntelliSmart.

Apraava Energy Private Limited are a recent addition to the REC Empanelment List, although there is no connection to CyanConnode at this point.

RECPDCL were the tendering authority for the Jammu & Kashmir smart meter project, during the summer of 2020, which I posted about recently and which Techno Electrics were awarded the smart meter contract.

Just some recent history and as I posted yesterday, lets see what develops from here.

In answer to your comment yesterday Vas, at 11:03, about payments to CyanConnode via Genus, there are 2 types of contract at this stage of the smart meter programme, from my point of view. One covered by the RDSS and one covered independently, if that is the right word.

The RDSS contracts are covered by a laid down and agreed payment structure, the independent contracts are covered and agreed, by the two Companies concerned, in this case Genus and CyanConnode.

As you have touched on a 1 million contract figure, CyanConnode received a 1 million Omnimesh Module order, during August 2022, from Genus for Bihar, with the Omnimesh Modules " ...... expected to commence during September 2022, with the installation being completed within two years."

So I would suggest that this particular order has been contributing to the CyanConnode bank account since the beginning of 2023 at least, and should be contributing on a regular basis until September 2024, when the eight year Support and Maintenance contract, will then take over the contribution.

From the CyanConnode RNS, by Mr. Jitendra Kumar Agarawal, Joint MD of Genus, commented:-

" We are very pleased to once again be Partnering with CyanConnode. Both companies have already worked closely together and successfully deployed four projects, resulting in the rollout of over 600k Smart Meters. I believe our joint capability and track records will result in further opportunities for both our companies in the near future."

And as we know, Heather is/will be keeping a close eye on contract payments and transactions, to make sure that those regular contributions are forth-coming.

In answer to your 20:11 post yesterday, you are welcome. The figures quoted are guestimates, as I am sure you understand, from different bits of information we can pick up along the way.

It may also depend on the kind of mix of the solutions per contract - Harware/Software/the number of Gateways/ Licences/etc., which will determin the overall value of the contract.

I would also estimate that there could be an extention to the existing Strategic Framework Agreement, sometime during the Spring/Summer of 2024, if the orders from IntelliSmart continue at a similar size to that which CyanConnode has received over the last few month's. If all goes well.

As I also suggested yesterday, other Companies may also choose to follow IntelliSmart's lead, along this route, to secure a regular supply chain, which I am sure will be essential to all contractors as the smart meter programme begins to escalate.

For 5m units, in answer to your initial question, between £60m and £75m, depending on any discount structure and make-up of solution provided.

..... signed between IntelliSmart and CyanConnode during February 2023, is not the first such agreement that CyanConnode has been involved with. Tata Power signed a similar Framework Agreement with L&T, ( as it was then, now Schneider Electric ) which CyanConnode also became a beneficiary of:-

As you can detect from the order size awarded during 2016, the order values under todays Strategic Framework Agreement with IntelliSmart, are significantly higher.

So as I have mentioned before, I can see other Stategic Framework Agreements being signed between CyanConnode and other AMISP/Lead Bidders/Meter Manufacturers, as the smart meter programme expands, to secure a regular supply chain between various consortia members.

We may even see an expansion of the existing Strategic Framework Agreement between IntelliSmart and CyanConnode, if the agreement is deemed a success and warrants an extension, as I am confident it will.

Some encouraging news from CyanConnode this morning, I feel, in respect to the IntelliSmart order for Bihar, specifically for the South Bihar Distribution Company Ltd or SBPDCL.

The cumulative order book for CyanConnode in India now stands at 5.3 million Omnimesh Modules, which for a Company the size of CyanConnode, is impressive, in my opinion.

So a steady progression of contract building, will do very nicely

" The order will support the smart metering deployment for South Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd, ( SBPDCL ), a utility located in Bihar, India. This marks the forth order received under a Strategic Framework Agreement ( Agreement ) for 3 million modules, which was signed in February 2023. Including this order, the total number of modules ordered under this Agreement has now reached 1.7 million Omnimesh Modules. All of these orders have been secured have been secured in the past five months."

Thanks again Vas. As you say, it is always good to keep an eye on the changes.

The October 2023 Achievement ( Installs for October 2023 ) come in at 22,125, but that is only 6 days installations. The toal number from September 22nd, 2023, which was the last update, to October 6th, 2023, comes in at 47,440, for a 2 week period.

There are a number of these contracts that have been completed/near completion or ongoing. So the installations seem to be reducing, probably for that reason.

But interestingly, there are 15 projects at this moment in time, that are Sanctioned and Awarded and are " Yet to Commence " totalling circa 57 million smart meters that are in the system, awaitng for nomination to sub-contracters, as I read it.

So installations should start to pick up, as the contracts become " Live."

So plenty to look out for, in my opinion.
