Good afternoon tonyj,

As CyanConnode have both RF and Cellular modules, I think they possibly already do tender for both.

- During September 2020, CyanConnode received an order from MPWZ for Omnimesh RF and Cellular modules.

- During August 2021, CyanConnode received an order for Himachal Pradesh, from Schneider Electric for " ..... new Omnimesh Cellular Modules as well as Omnimesh RF Modules."

- During April 2022, CyanConnode received an order from the MENA region, which stated " Under the contract, CyanConnode will supply Cellular Hubs, with a capacity to handle up to 1 million meters."

There may be more RNS's, with a " Cellular " reference if you look back, but that is enough to go on with.

I hope this is of help with the RF/Cellular tender question.

The tweet from CyanConnode India yesterday, is confirmation I feel, of the strategic move by CyanConnode to include Infrastructure companies, such as Alfanar and MonteCarlo, as a vehicle for CyanConnode to develop and be included in Smart Meter/Smart Grid/Smart City projects, from an early stage.

A very shrewed move, by the Senior Management of CyanConnode.

Personally, I do not look on CyanConnode's Cellular Metering Products as an " .... add-on .... ". I see it as more of an additional segment of an overall offer.

But you may see it differently.

From the CyanConnode - Cellular report, from March 2020:-

" Omnimesh is an open standards platform and it is currently being applied to the future-proofing of Advanced Metering Infrastructure ( AMI ) communications for Utilities. Omnimesh has offered market-leading RF Mesh Networks since its launch in June 2018. The expansion of the Omnimesh range of products with Cellular capability, will both complement RF Mesh connectivity and further increase the functions of the communication solution, to meet market demands."

I see the development of the Cellular solution, as part of the Omnimesh offer, as CyanConnode reading the situation correctly probably 2 years before the launch of the Cellular products and the need and opportunities that would present themselves within the potential Indian, Smart Meter/Smart Grid/Smart City opportunities.

Good evening Vas, tonyj and all,

Picking up on your point about Cellular networks Vas, there was a presentation a few years back, pre-COVID, high-lighting the problems that India specifically, was having with " call drops, " as they referred to it at the time. " Not spots " as I think we would refere to it.

This was during the time of the early smart grid development, when Cellular was the preferred option. Remember the early multi-million meter unit tenders?

Anyway, getting back to my observation.

One of the comments made during the presentation was about Cellular and the point that was made was that Cellular/telephones/mobiles, were made for voice, not for data and the transfer of data.

This opportunity, I feel, was grasped by CyanConnode with the launching of their Cellular Metering Products, during March, 2020.

So personally, I feel that CyanConnode are product/solution ready, to take on this specific challenge.

Thank you for the project information for Thiruvananthapuram, which includes smart meters and LED lighting. It is appreciated. It will be interesting to see who the final 3 successful companies are, during next month.

It does not mention smart street lighting, only LED street lighting. Maybe the budget does not run to go completely " smart " initially, with this particular tender and will be considered at a later date.

It is good to see that Tamil Nadu has progressed from where it was, all those years ago, to a center of excellence for companies such as Tata Consultancy Services, HCL Technologies, Robert Bosch, Accenture, IBM, Infosys, Tech Mahindra and Cognizant, just to name a few that may be known on this bb, that have grown and are growing as India progresses with its smart technology programme and future.

Yes indeed, the TANGEDCO/Tamil Nadu smart meter initiative/project should get us exited, eventually. It has been a long time in transition, but with the propsal/potential for an estimated 30 million smart meters overall, eventually, it is a very encouraging prospect.

Coupled with Tamil Nadu's specific involvement concerning the EV sector, that I highlighted on 14th September, 2023, from within the IntelliSmart report on 13th September, centering in Coimbatore, the future, hopefully, could be " electrifying " in Tamil Nadu.

" Rajasthan has unveiled its " Rajasthan Energy Policy 2050 " draft, charting a path towards a sustainable and eco-friendly economy. This forward-looking policy sets ambitious targets, including the deployment of 90 GW of combined solar and wind capacity by 2030. The state also aims to bolster its rooftop solar capacity, tapping into significant untapped potential. Furthermore, Rajasthan envisions a future where non-fossil energy sources constitute 70% of its electricity generation, a substantial increase from the 20% recorded in 2020. The policy outlines a commitment to reducing Aggregate Technical and Commercial ( AT&C ) losses and places significant emphasis on green hydrogen.

" To catalyze the green hydrogen sector, the state has pledged an investment of R400 billion for 5 GW of green hydrogen capacity, largly produced through solar power and advanced electrolysis techniques. The transport sector is another focal point, with the policy aiming to achieve a modal share of at least 40% for non-motorized and public transport by 2030, accompanied by substantial electric vehicle penetration. By 2050, the state aspires to attain an 80% market penetration for EVs and universal electricfication of passenger buses and taxi fleets.

" Additionally, the policy seeks to meet 45% of agricultural power demand with renewable sources by 2030, with a strong focus on enhancing on farm irrigation efficiency. By 2050, Rajasthan aims to derive 75% of agricultural power demand from renewables, coupled with a commitment to achieve 70% on-farm irregation efficiency. This comprehensive and forward-thinking policy underscores Rajasthan's commitment to a sustainable, low-carbon future."

Rajasthan have certainly set the bar high, on there aspirations for a greener future. No doubt other States will aspire to the same/similar agenda.

No problem. It was the use of " Unable to find a second partner list in India " and " Techno Electric - Cyan " that I wanted to clarify, from my point of view.

But Schneider Electric and Alfanar have moved onto the CyanConnode Partners list. But Techno Electric still have some way to go, I feel.

But some interesting information within the October 2022 CyanConnode Presentatiopn PDF. It was good to look back on.

I see that one of the tenders, and there are a few, gradually getting towards a " Due Date " is the tender for Tamil Nadu - TANGEDCO - for 30 million plus smart meters. The tender " Due Date " for Tamil Nadu in particular, has been set in this IntelliSmart Newsletter edition at 26/09/2023.

When this particular project arrives, it will be a monster. But in reality, it will probably be done in " .... parcels .... " of smart meters.

Just for clarity, as far as I am aware, Techno Electric are not and have not been classed as a Partner of CyanConnode. I think the reasons I explained in one of my earlier posts.
