If you go the bottom of the document, press " Meter Specification " there are various " Items " listed with a box that advises " Updated as on ". Go to Page 14 - Item 131 - Battery set & Charger - Upated as on - 13/12/2022, which is the latest date I can find, looking at the document briefly.

So I would say that, as they do not seem to mention a date after 13/12/2022, that the document will be dated sometime after that.

Not very specific or scientific, but that is as close as I can date it. Also the dates are not consecutive and do not run in order, so the first date is not necessarily the oldest.

Also, on my computor, there is a date in the bottom left hand corner with a " Website Last Modified " date .

It may be of use to you, it maybe not. Enjoy the rest of your evening.

...... it seems to me, that the Letter of Award published on 3rd September, 2023, is for part of the overall already awarded contract to GMR, made public on 14th July 2023.

The original contract award was for 75.69 lakh smart meters to GMR, on 14th July, 2023, for Purvanchal and Dakshinanchal, in Uttar Pradesh.

The Letter of Award seems to be connected to the orginal order, for some reason and is a LoA for " ..... the maintenance of 50.17 lakh smart meters in the Purvanchal area, which includes Varanasi, Azamgarh, prayagraj and Mirzapur."

So only part of the original 75.69 smart meter order, for two areas.

I have provided the reports to give an appropriate timeline for when the reports were published, in case it is of interest.

Good news about the latest GMR smart meter contract, for 5,123.37 crore, posted by Inthetin yesterday. Which compliments nicely the earlier smart meter contract awarded to GMR, highlighted by Vas on 24th July, 2023, for 7,593 crore, which may have been first made public on 14th July, 2023.

So we wait for the customary time period in which sub-contract companies are informed and to see what/any potential there is for RF and who has been successful.

But excellent news for GMR and associated sub-contract companies.

it is good to look back sometimes, so thank you for posting the october 2022 cyanconnode presentation.

we can now begin to link the information provided in the zeus, march 7th, 2023 " the smart choice " report, concerning the cyanconnode customer & partner list, with the rec empanelment list and begin to see the strategic partnersips being recognised on the rec empanelment list.

i will provide the complete list of empanelment partners as they appear numerically on the list, that are also on cyanconnode's customer and partner list, at the moment.

1) intellismart infrastructure.

3) monti carlo ltd.

12) hpl electric & power ltd.

18) genus power infrastructure ltd.

21) tata power company ltd.

29) ncc ltd.

31) schneider electric india pvt ltd.

as i indicated yesterday, not all have given cyanconnode orders at this particular time, but i am sure we are confident that they all will play some part in the india smart meter roll-out, that we are invested in.

i notice that l&t sw is mentioned on the cyanconnode october 2022 presentation and l****n & toubro ltd are also mentioned on the empanelment list.

as schneider electric purchased the electrical & automation part of the l&t business a couple of years ago, maybe there are other parts of the l&t business that are getting involved in the roll-out.

one of them to consider, would be l&t construction, who i seem to remember does large infrastructure projects.

it would seem from the growing customer & partner list of cyanconnode, that they are also gaining some of these infrastructure companies, as part of their armoury.

From the Zeus report, dated 7th March, 2023 - to add a little to your 13:13 post:-

" Well positioned with prime contractors and suppliers "

- CyanConnode's AMISP Partners have been named as Level 1 status for over 25m units, valued at approximately £350m to the Company.

- As at end January 2023, CyanConnode's Partners were tendering for over 100m smart meters valued at over £1b in value to the Company.

- In addition to using contract equipment manufactureres, manufacturing is also outsourced to a prominent meter manufacturer, Genus.

This final point you highlighted at 13:13 today.

- CyanConnode supports over half ( 16 ) of the empanelled AMISPs and is integrating its technology into nine new meter types and can provide technology to all empanelled providers.

It is this " ..... and can provide technology to all empanelled providers .... " that to me, is very significant.

If you have a Company say that only provides Cellular and they have graduated to the Empanelment List and may also be an AMISP, meeting all the SLA's requirements, and CyanConnode, as they also meet the SLA requirements " .... can provide technology to all empanelled providers ..... " I am sure there will be a deal to be done, one way or another, if they require RF.

Just a thought and we will have to wait and see how it works out. But could be very interesting.

Vas, personally, I do not view EDF as a competitor. More as a future opportunity.

The EDF contract, we have discussed many times on this bb and as you have pointed out, has been progressing since 2018. I seem to remember that Accenture also having an involvement, in some capacity.

We understand that this contract in Bihar, was one of the legacy contracts awarded by EESL during the early period of the Smart Meter deployments, when multi-million meter orders were a regular occurance, during that period.

I seem to remember 20m smart meters being awarded, over three contracts. ( 2 x 5m and 1 x 10m ). But there seems to be a more strategic/phased approach, under the RDSS Awards system.

There are 7 Companies listed on the REC Empanelment List, not 6, as I indicated on Friday night, that are aligned/partnered with CyanConnode, on the Customer and Partner page of the Zeus report, dated 7th March, 2023.

They are:- 1) MonteCarlo, 2) HPL Electric & Power, 3) Genus Power Infrastructure, 4) Tata Power, 5) NCC Ltd, 6) Schneider Electrics and 7) Alfanar Power.

Not all have provided CyanConnode with orders at this particular time, but they are all Partners of CyanConnode, in one way or another.

There are a lot of questions there and I will not attempt to answer them all at once.

But your question about WirePas specifically, not being on the Empanelment List. CyanConnode are also, not on the Empanelmnet List. CyanConnode go to tender via Companies that are on the Empanelment List, that have had their total offer/package, for the Smart Meter Roll-out vetted and Empanelled through the vetting proceedure that took place prior to the REC Empanelment List being compiled.

I hope this helps. But until they start showing the Solution Providers that have qualified for the REC Empanelment List, on the List itself, we will just have to keep guessing, or wait until the Awards are passed out and we learn through the established channels of communication.

I have provided what I think are credible and real competitors to CyanConnode, that being the Cellular Technology Providers, as mentioned in the Zeus report dated 7th March, 2023. No names in particular, but you could say all Cellular providers in India. Globally if you want to take in other regions.

3 other companies were mentioned in the Zeus report as direct competitors, with a brief description of each, by Zeus.

There was an RF provider when the Smart Meter pilots were ongoing in India, a few years back, a Chinese company if my memory serves me correctly and we know what happened there.

There could be others if I look back far enough, but as we do not here about them now, they probably did not make the SLA grade.

Which brings us to the REC Empanelment List, I posted earlier today, at 12:07.

There are 19 companies that are providing an RF solution. Only 6 have identified with/Partnered with CyanConnode over the years. When the identity of the other RF providers is revealed, then the landscape will/should become clearer.

All in my opinion, of course.

Sounds pretty clear to me.

Something that may be worth mentioning, is that NCC Ltd are listed on the Empanellment List, as only providing an RF solution at the moment, under the " Type of Communication Technology " they provide.

So it will be interesting to see how this particular contract is eventually distributed.

The first two orders relate to MSEDCL, with a total value of Rs 5,755 crore. The third order is from North Bihar Power Distribution Co Ltd, with a value of Rs 2,324 crore. And the forth order is for Rs 319 crores, from Bangalore Electricity Supply Co Ltd, totalling Rs 8,398 crore.

From the report:-

" As such the orders totalling Rs 5,575 crores will form part of the subsidiary companies ( SPVs ) order book and the balance of Rs 2,643 crores remains in the NCC standalone order book, the comapany said ".

It would seem that NCC and Partners are going to be busy.

I am surprised Vas, that there have not been more candidates put forward as competitors to CyanConnode, in answer to your question yesterday, as over the years there have been many mentioned, on this bb.

You can find a section on " Competiton " generally, in the Zeus report dated 7th March, 2023. Cellular and Cellular providers, is probably the largest competitor in India, at the moment and more than likely, globally also.

Which is potentially why, during March 2020, CyanConnode launched its range of Cellular Metering Products, having identified this particular category of competition.

But there are 3 other companies mentioned within the Zeus report, from 7th March, 2023, with a brief description of where Zeus/CyanConnode see the competition positioned.

So in my opinion, there is competition out there of various types, involved in every tender.

But so far, CyanConnode have managed/are managing to be successful in a reasonable percentage of the tenders that have been awarded. Long may that continue.

A good question. I think as investors we are familier with competition, for the shares we are invested in. We will have to see what unfolds as the months/years, progress.

But I also notice that the representative of Genus Power, within the report posted, used the " P " word. That being " ... procure ..... ".

From the report - " Many State Electricity Boards ( SEBs ) have commenced the bidding process to procure smart meters ..... "

Zeus started using procurement, during the early part of this year, when reporting on CyanConnode. We will have to see if the word is used more freely, now that Genus Power has introduced it into there reporting of tenders.
