I personally feel in terms of any potential takeover that Next would be a better company to buy them out. I’ve had a think of potential companies and believe they are a better fit. They already stock some ted baker products online, they could definitely add ted baker concessions to their stores much like their lipsy concessions / stores. Could be getting ahead of ourselves and they may not even get taken over but it’s good to think ahead. With my customer head on I’d feel better seeing ted baker items on sale in Next rather than M&S, I feel it could put off regular ted baker customers a bit as M&S does still have that stereotype of older customers and even though I shop there and know it’s not all bad anymore, it would still put me off a bit
I shop in both ted baker and M&S but I just don’t think the two are a good fit. Ted baker is low end designer/ high end high street, M&S is struggling high street with a mainly older demographic. I don’t think either would get anything good out of a deal imo.
It’s a bit like how Next owns Lipsy, two completely different demographics but a similar price point to each other so it works quite well. Ted and M&S two different price points
It’s your money so it’s up to you?
I’m a new investor too and although I appreciate reading the different opinions on this board (now I’ve found the ignore option anyway haha), I certainly am not going to take financial advice from strangers on the Internet, ultimately my investments are my decision and mine alone
@indepthtwins yes I agree with you it’s high risk, I haven’t said otherwise? A few variables at play affecting the SP such as the infection rate, opening dates, vaccines, courtcase so I just wondered why the OP was so confident that we would be seeing a 100% price rise within a few weeks and what info they are privy to that the rest of us aren’t
*mid 50’s
“Ha ha to all the shorters and manipulators trying their utmost best to get this share price to drop down low. IT's not and it will not do that. Mid 50's is the very lowest price and now its stabilising at this base and preparing to skyrocket on the good news thats coming in the next three weeks. ”
With all due respect, you don’t know that mid 60’s is the lowest it will go, it’s a guess and none of us know. If we all knew the lowest none of us would have invest until it hits the lowest.
What is the magical good news you speak of that we should expect the next few weeks?! Will cineplex go bust and legal proceeding cancelled? Will the uk Cineworld’s reopen as planned? Will a vaccine be found? Will the US get their cases under control?
Because if your expected good news is just the cinemas reopening it could end up pushed back once again, and it’s going to take more than the UK cinemas to reopen to make the share price sky rocket
The problem with using Brazil as an example of coronavirus not being a seasonal virus is that their president has consistently played it down, told people it was only flu and refused to social distance and it’s got completely out of hand due to incompetent leadership.
Similarly with states like Texas where lot aren’t taking it seriously at all and refusing to wear masks or distance themselves, again lack of good leadership by Trump. I went there I used the T word on this thread, i’ll see myself out
Evidence shows the virus doesn’t like heat and yet it’s still gone mad in these places so my best guess would be it would be even worse in these places right now if it wasn’t as hot there, based on evidence of conditions it spread
“How do you now they will spike again. You telling porky here. Whole Europe handles the situation pretty well no signs of second wave. We don't know what's going to happen.”
I’m guessing this is aimed at me because I was talking about the POSSIBILITY of a second spike / wave. I have some users ignored so apolgies if not
I don’t have a crystal ball mate, I didn’t say anywhere a second wave or spike is definitely coming, I’m saying it’s likely this virus is seasonal as there’s evidence that other coronavirus’s are seasonal and this is likely to take the same pattern and hit harder in the winter again. Anyone not prepared for this possibility is quite frankly burying their head in the sand- even the government are keeping hold of the nightingale hospitals and have only just finished one in Exeter. They are preparing because they expect a second wave and spike is coming in the winter. No porky pies being told here I’m afraid, just an educated guess about what the winter may bring
I hope we don’t have a spike, but even if it doesn’t happen in the UK over the next month or two after the reopenings, none of us know how this virus will behave over the winter months. There’s a good chance it could be seasonal and come back with a vengeance which is why I’m hoping these shares turn a profit and I can get out by October. The truth is none of us know what’s going to happen in future with this share or virus we can only take our best guesses, and I’m not blindly optimistic about it right now
“I bet you're fun at parties mate. Nothing like a bit of doom and gloom haha”
This share IS doom and gloom right now? It’s literally dropping and dropping?! Or do you think losing money is fun or something?! lmao it’s calked realism, not every post has to be optimistic on herd
My prediction of 48-50p bottom still stands I think we will get there by next week, crazy how quick things are going south but hopefully they will improve again. I think it was the post about stripping the copper that did it ;o)
Just gotta pray reopening the pubs won’t cause a UK spike but after seeing people’s poor behaviour and lack of distancing I think this share will only end up more spooked. Still regretting buying when I did as things have only got worse since then and how things are going I think things will continue to get worse
I had a few hundred pound in my trading account so took a very small punt on this share.
I’ve done no research and bought at 80p last week. May buy some more depending on price and doing some research into them. Basically I like ted baker products, but what I have noticed as a customer of theirs is they seem to be the last year or two starting to discount items more heavily than they usually would. Had a feeling their sales had been on the decline due to this. before I took a few minutes look at their figures. Will they recover long term? I don’t know but I hope they do. I think even if they don’t they still have another year or two left in them yet so hopefully SP will recover somewhat in the near future
I’m wondering the same. I’m expecting it to go to around 48-50 at its worst but hopefully I’m wrong. Do I jump in and sell at 8am or do I have potentially a very costly lie in and try and just ride out the storm?
Because a lot has changed since I first bought in and I thought they were on the up (cases in the US have snowballed much much more than I anticipated for starters. I wasn’t expecting them to get sued for 2 billion either because if they go to court and cineplex win then cineworld may as well have just bought them out in the first place. The uk opening hit pushed back too since my initial buy in).
I knew it was risky when I bought in, I was hoping for a quick sale and decent profit within a couple of weeks but I’ve been wrong and now my moneys tied up for possibly by long term (if I get it all back that is)
I’m new to trading, decided Cineworld would be my second investment and stupidly bought in when they peaked at 80p last week and it’s been all downhill ever since ??. Did top up some more when they hit 57p, and some more again about 20 seconds before 4.30 yesterday at 60p (which funnily enough I’m now regretting haha). Please no one let me buy anymore shares even if they drop to 20p ?? I can’t take it after the stress of checking here before bed last night and seeing the news about Cineplex ??I think I may disconnect myself from the internet for the foreseeable future and check on them in6 months times if I don’t run for the hills at 8am Monday
