My post last night about you never know what Alba are going to pull out of the hat next was completely right for all the wrong reasons haha

I’m not sure why anyone would think a vaccine will cause the gold price to plummet and that Alba have missed the boat. Vaccinations take time to carry out and even if the pandemic was to miraculously end tomorrow the world is in a recession and every country still will have a ridiculous amount of debts caused by it. No vaccine is a miraculous cure for the economic cost of world half shutting down for at least a year, I can’t believe I even had to write this post to be honest

The good thing with Alba is you never know what they’re going to pull out the hat next. I wasn’t expecting Fridays news about the Gwnfynnyd mine, I don’t think any of us were. It came as a good reminder that even on quiet weeks there’s lots going on behind the scenes that we have no idea about

There was some clever advertising going on by Clogau, I saw their ad in the break of the first I’m a Celeb episode. Would have cost them a pretty penny just for that one AD to be shown then as that would have been peak viewership

They’ve definitely upped their game, I remember before I’d even heard of Clogau jewellery the first AD I saw a few years ago I thought it was a joke ad as it was so bad and cringey! (It was the one with Gethin Jones)

Yes that’s how it usually works on AIM when you get 10% or more drops and there turns out that it wasn’t caused by any bad news, especially when good results are imminent....

There’s no new RNS so unless people have inside information to me it’s pretty obvious The MM’s have done a random 10% drop on no news. They wil be trying to build up a number of shares and hit the 1p stop losses ready for the imminent ragged range results that are due any day.

Just bought some more, have been slowly adding here for a few months whenever I can. Was the expecting a bad RNS to have caused it (that THR had bought somewhere else again or ragged range results weren’t great) so when I saw it was just MM’s causing the drop I took it as a good opportunity

I can’t wait for this to go above 1p, not just for the money but so that Mr008 can leave us in peace and find another thread to annoy

This share is kind of crazy when you sit and think about it. Yesterday they announced they have another gold mine to explore and it only added 2% to the share price. They now have exploration licenses for 2 gold mines and a 25km gold belt and it's still 2 a penny, not including Greenland etc. Not ramping Btw, I just can't believe how much future promise this has for the low SP

Clogau own the Gwynfynydd mine and Alba have been granted the exploration licence for the mine. Seeing as clogau’s USP is using Welsh gold in the jewellery and they have had to severely restrict the amount they put in the jewellery as it hasn’t been mined for 30 years I don’t see them giving up their gold mine and selling it to Alba which is what some were saying yesterday, and there was no mention of Alba buying the mine in the RNS. Imo there will be some sort of JV going on there where Clogau still own it but Alba explore and mine it which would make more sense to me.

Any gold from the clogau mine and 25km gold belt which Alba own could well be used as a JV with a different brand

I’m a bit confused as I’ve seen posts on here saying Alba have bought the Gwynfynydd mine but the way I read it in the RNS was that they’ve been granted exploration rights for it which is two different things

“Alba Mineral Resources plc (AIM: ALBA) is pleased to report that the Company has been awarded the exclusive exploration rights to the Gwynfynydd Gold Mine in north Wales”

Looks more to me like this will be a JV with Clogau jewellers who own the mine than that they have bought it off of them

I’m now convinced there is some sort of JV with the Clogau jewellery brand. They own the Gwnfynydd Mine but haven’t mined it since 1999, they desperately need Welsh gold to keep their brand going so it’s a win win situation for both parties with Alba exploring and mining it.

The pilot plant can process 3 tonnes and hour can’t it? If the average is 17 g/t and the plant is used for 8 hours a day it should be extracting around 15 ounces per day so around £20k a day on average if I’ve worked it out correctly

I’m sure it will be fine selling the gold I’m just interested how they will try and maintain the Welsh gold premium especially if there’s a lot of gold. The commercial side of things just interests me more than the getting it out of the ground part :,0)

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but isnt the Gwynfynydd mine where the clogau jewellery brand got their gold from? So if it’s been exhausted by then all signs are still good that they will be in the market to buy up Alba’s gold so their brands USP of clogau gold can carry on

Yep news will come when it’s good and ready :) but I hope for the sake of my sanity when checking this forum it comes by Christmas because I can’t take another 2 months of
