The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Rumour has it if you say St Tropez in the mirror 3 times he appears and tell you he's been buying more Alba shares everyday and then rehashes his copied and pasted info from the alba webite ;0)
(Joking aside I personally don't mind him as he often posts good info, you just have to not get sucked into the ramping aspect of it)
The SP is crap, but we’ve also seen it go from this price very quickly back to 0.5p and no doubt it’ll happen again when it’s allowed to. The problem is like other people are saying is now because we are so low just how much would good assays actually Add to the price and will the price be sustained?
When we were stable in the 0.5’s before the placing I thought we would likely see 0.6 before assays and 1p on results day. Now who knows I think we’d be lucky to see 0.6 on good assay results day. It just feels a bit meh but I have no intentions of selling. Price is starting to get a bit more interesting for topping up but still no real desire and no doubt I will regret one day
So they haven’t struck gold... yet but have struck a massive quartz vein so it only a matter of time until they follow it and find the gold. Always said the dolgellau gold field was what excited me more than Clogau, I have a very good feeling about it all long term. However for some reason I still can’t bring myself to top up though, my short term excitement for the share has gone down the drain along with my money but I’m sure things will eventually get back on track here in 2021. Until the SP stops dropping though I’m not buying anymore
Also Stellar used grab samples rather than bulk samples which could have skewed the assay results in their favour. The results show there's still gold up for grabs in the mine but I'm taking their high grades with a pinch of salt until we see albas assays
Thanks for the replies about stellar
Loudspeaker I’m just being a bit nosey feel free not to answer but are you invested in Alba after being invested in stellar? Just curious if you see them coming to fruition compared to Stellar
While we’re on the topic what happened with Stellar? Was it just a case of not enough money to get it off the ground? I think I read they owned 49% of Clogau and needed to raise 400k for exploring and sampling. Anyone invested back then?
Thanks Yanis I found the link on google to it that someone posted here a couple of weeks back. Had another read of it and remembered this was assays of grab samples from Clogau rather than bulk samples. Independently analysed in a lab rather than their processing plant but maybe they just sent them samples where they could see lots of gold. Taking these with a pinch of salt but it does make me feel better that the mine could potentially pump out this amount of gold

I’ve been feeling a bit frustrated with this share, I have no intentions of selling though it’s just my excitement has gone for it. Hopefully will come back but with all the doubts on here lately I had a thought that made me feel better. The company before Alba who explored Clogau had very good bulk sampling grades. The name of the company and the numbers both evade me if someone could remind me so I can have another look please? But it’s made me feel better (I believe it was back in 2013 the samples were taken)
Warrants certainly not helping the SP but I’m not convinced it’s all down to placing/ warrants. They announced the exploration license for the new mine before the my sprung the placing announcement on us and the SP only rose 2% that day. It’s just an odd one this share
The reason that gold went for so much was because it hadn't been mined in 25 years at that point, once the mines reopen there will hopefully still be some sort of Welsh gold premium but it will be no where near those prices. Was probably a rich person wanting the gold for wedding rings or something
@shezer I’m not even sure why you’re on this board if you think there’s no gold, are you even invested in Alba or are you ones of those weirdos that frequents boards you’re not invested in just to deramp? Cos if you’re the latter I think I speak for everyone on this BB and you can get back under your bridge
Me when I saw the processing plant:

@shezer They announced on Friday they have an exploration license for a new mine that was on nobody’s radar, and they also announced yesterday that the DGF has started trenching. Of course if you’re invested in Alba I shouldn’t have to be telling you such basic information ;0)
Everyone on this board today giving Brenda from Bristol a run for her money:

@notavailable I'm not sure what you're still so bothered I dared to say yesterday's drop was caused by MM's (which it a pears to be given no bad news came out and SP is recovering today). Just this morning others on here are also suggesting MM games and tree shakes. Why don't you go and bother them for evidence as well?
