I'm personally not interested in early stage projects, but that's simply my own investing preference like avoiding companies predominately in Africa. I've seen too many start up mining, oil & gas and pharmaceutical companies who create initial excitement and short term SP spikes followed by years and years of fund raises and low, flat SPs. AAU was one of them, PMG another etc etc., there are many. Early stage projects now will just hold AAU back and divert the management attention (as if that were needed).
We had 50% (or was it 51%) in RR that was just producing and just debt free, with Tavsan on the near horizon, when they rushed to sell into the new JV. Just think what net cash that would be throwing off now and over the next few years. Add in Venus with production in hopefully the next 2 years. Then the big one, Salinbas, which needed a partner but, imo, should have been as a separate JV with no sweetener of 53% of RR thrown in. With the size of Salinbas did AAU really need Asgard and Kosovo? The are just attention diverting froth as far as I can see.
The evidence to me is of good explorers but probably pretty lousy businessmen especially with the board WFH all over the world with other irons in their personal fires. Unless of course this is a lifestyle company.
I know others will disagree, probably strongly, and they could well be right. But that is how I feel now.
