Thanks for your hope, Bankrupty, but "Milton" has gone all the way straight across Florida from the Gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic (via Disney World in Orlando) doing millions of $$$ damage but I understand a lot fewer deaths than Tennessee & The Carolinas suffered from the previous storm, " Helene". It landed just about in the wealthiest areas of the State. Fortunately it did not hit Miami or Jacksonville but the city of Tampa caught the outer edges of the hurricane and the initial wave actually caused Tampa Bay to lose much of its water but only until the next wave surged back to refill it and overflow somewhat. The man asks a beautifully crafted and intellectually based question and he gets a stammering garbled nonsense response, including a mention of 'global warming' from someone who is supposed to be in a position of power.

28th January, 2021 - Angela Rayner was on BBC Radio Four's Today programme. She wanted teachers to be moved up the queue for vaccines.

The BBC interviewer put it to her that doing that would push other people further back, and those people could be in more vulnerable groups. She said that pushing teachers forward in the queue would not mean other people getting pushed back. The BBC interviewer told her it would, and she insisted that it wouldn't.

So if you are fifth in a queue and other people join the queue in front of you so that you are then twelfth in the queue, according to Rayner, you have not been pushed further back.

Then she showed herself to be a total bigot and a bully who cannot think logically.

The reason why she wanted teachers to be vaccinated was because, she said, teachers were highly at risk. The BBC interviewer reminded her that, the day before, Jonathan Van Tam had read out the figures showing that teachers were not catching the coronavirus any more than the rest of the public and were not more at risk.

In defiance of the facts, Rayner said that teachers were at more risk and she then tried to prove her point by using a bit of "logic".

She said that key workers are a high risk group. Teachers are key workers, therefore teachers are a high risk group.

So what is wrong with that?

Well, birds can fly, penguins are birds, therefore penguins can fly. I presume that Rayner would argue until she is blue in the face that penguins can fly, because her reasoning proves it. Either her grasp of logic was so poor that she was unaware of exceptions or she failed to think it through. I suspect the latter because her mind was clouded by her bias and bigotry.

That about the penguins was my thinking not what the BBC interviewer said to her.

The interviewer told her again that the data proved her wrong about teachers being a high risk group.

The facts were against her, so Rayner used a tactic that bigots use when they can't argue with the facts and don't want to admit that they are wrong.

She started ranting and shouting, insisting that she was right, that teachers are at greater risk because they are classed as key workers. She bullied the interviewer with her belligerent manner.

For some reason desertjoe has just come to my mind.
