If, as seems likely, we pay a windfall tax in respect of 2021 then what reason is there not to expect the same to occur in 2023 in respect of this calendar year?
I am not remotely impressed so far by Looney, other than by the salary he has decided to reward himself with. He wont stand up to government and his Ratner moment simply strikes me as an indication of incompetence that should have cost him his job. This man should be standing up for BP and, as myself and others have suggested, he should make plans to take BP to a different tax jurisdiction if there are any penalties for BP/ Shell in good years which continue not to be compensated for in bad ones. How can a windfall tax be justified with the billions of write off in Rosneft caused by Government pressure/ policy?

My view is that you don't screw your major industries, you nurture them. Where was the help from the Government for BP after the Gulf of Mexico disaster when the Americans all but bankrupted the company allowing inflated and fraudulent claims? Where was the help from the Government for oilies when PoO went to $20 or less in 2020 and huge losses were made? Why is there talk of windfall tax when both Shell and BP have just recognised billions and bilions in right offs on Russian assets as a result of Government pressure and sanctions? Could Tesla, Amazon. Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, Google, Oracle etc have been British with a different attitude? I think they could, British inventiveness is second to none but compared to America is stifled.

Windfall tax appears inevitable next year, if not this, with a second year of bumper profits (at least for the majors) seeming to be nailed on - especially as the next GE rolls into view. Thinks its about time for BP and Shell to threaten to take their tax residency abroad to a more supportive jurisdiction if the UK try to treat them as a cash cow.

I am a bit of a petrol head and I follow a few US video channels (Hoovies Garage, Car Wizard, Tavarish) and the numbers they talk about for used cars, especially so called modern classics (early Boxsters, MX5s, Audi TTs etc) is amazing - ours have risen but yours more so.
8 years for Salinbas...... sadly I think even that may be optimistic. Late 2024 for Tavsan imo, mid decade for Venus.

Ok, so you think they are actively hoping for a buyout? Makes sense I suppose, they know they have a potentially valuable resource and there have been buyouts in this sector (I came here initially from Bacanora). Just re read the March 2022 presentation after my 9.47 post. There is nothing in it except what they have established as reserves, how central to the European car manufacturers they are situated, even how cheap the MC is compared to rivals. Add in a recent interview with the CEO where he said that he hopes there will be development funding for lithium extraction in the same way as there has been encouragement for refuelling infrastructure and I wonder if they are proposing development at all!

So are you on the sidelines uninvested here at present? Think that's the trouble, with no news investors see the potential of the market sector but, given the SP graph (everyone is a closet chartist in my opinion) no one wants to commit - so its catch 22, no one will put money in until it rises, and it wont rise until people put money in.

At what point will we see a low ball bid for this company by someone who actually wants to mine? If someone offered 15p I suspect many investors would tear their arms off to accept.
I've said it before but what is going on with the board? What is the path to production? All I hear is that they have a mine in an established European mining area with 'green' lithium metal used by the car industry for which Germany is famous. And they 'hope' for production at the point that lithium demand grows. But where is the focus, the milestones they are aiming at. In fact where is anything substantial? Its no wonder this drifts and drifts and drifts.
What concerns me is that, as I write, any further ( by which i mean inevitable) fundraising by equity would be highly dilatative since it would probably be at 8p or less.

Have they responded at all to your enquiries? If you aren't getting anywhere then raise a complaint. I always find that financial companies respond fairly quickly to that!

Don't forget Market Capital is influenced not only by Share Price but also by total shares in issue if dilution occurs.

Promising or not, it seems that after all the bullish talk of Italian quality marble mined at huge margins, prestigious Chelsea developments, Middle East interest, a pivotal role in the Star Alliance ( or whatever it was called) etc. then adding a glorified shed start up seems a bit desperate.
Most we can hope for is a negotiated settlement in the legal dispute (no way will anything like the full claimed damages amount be granted to Fox when to date it has never shown even the slightest hint of ever breaking even) then we can all get out and move on.
