Here's a widely cited paper published in Nature that had the figure at around 16 years. It's from February 2021, so they point out that the results "must be understood in the context of an as-of-yet ongoing pandemic".

I don't know of any examples where he's u-turned.

His biggest problem seems to be he'll struggle in a popularity contest against Johnson and Rayner. The fact he seems like a decent bloke doesn't seem to count for much in politics, unfortunately.

Jacob Rees Mogg is one of the few people who are better off thanks to Brexit. Maybe he sees a profit in breaking up the UK too.

Sorry wyndrum, but I think you misunderstood what I was explaining.

You posted one statistic and implied it disproved Skippy's. So I gave you an example to illustrate that doesn't necessarily disprove it (even though, to many people, it seems to do so at first glance).

UK average life expectance is 81.52. That's correct.

But if the large number of elderly people who died at an average age of 80 would have otherwise been expected to each live another few years, and if the small number of younger people who died would have otherwise had an average of 50 years ahead of them, it's possible for both of those (seemingly incompatible) facts to be true.

Vectura Group plc is a British pharmaceuticals business based in Chippenham, England. It was listed on the London Stock Exchange until it was acquired by Philip Morris International in September 2021.

It's a pharmaceutical company owned by a tobacco firm, whose stated aim is supposedly "Helping you bring inhaled medicines to market ..."

It's for an undiscosed sum. But Exxon's share price has just (i.e. today) hit a 2-year high and its market cap is up almost $15bn since Monday, which is just over a 4% increase. It's at $70 against a six month and 12-month average of around $55 a share.

Maybe expatbrat can tell us some more about Biojet and how it is in no way similar to Velocys.

Why would they pay more? They've been able to build a huge stake without going higher.

I'm pretty sure that's an 81% chance of a respiratory drug reaching the market AFTER it has achieved successful P3 results.

I haven't checked the source, but that would fit in with the other figures that I've seen.

My mistake. I thought you were suggesting they might be hoping to announce EUA approval at the same time as the results.

They won't be announcing EUA at the same time as the trial results. That would mean sitting on the results for weeks after they've received them, and that's not an option.

7 days? That's cutting it a bit fine.

Maybe they're just betting on results taking more than another couple of weeks and us PIs getting nervous and selling up in the meantime. So the price drops to 170p, then Citadel takes its profits and ploughs them back into SNG shares and ends up with a few hundred thousand shares for free just before the results actually land.

There are probably hundreds of reasons why a $35bn hedge fund would take out a £2m short on SNG, and some of them are actually a positive sign for us.

If it continues to grow at that rate for a few years - brilliant. Everyone will be happy with that. Time will tell. But you can't sell us big ideas and then blame us for waiting for them.

The "one big contract" is still a problem for Deepverge. That's the one point I've been trying to make since last year.

In the past 18 months you've gone from one big idea to another, hyping it up, missing deadlines, changing the plan and offering hints of success that still haven't materialised. I'm sure that's why we've seen the share price drop by a peak of nearly 70p in September 2020 to where it is now, languishing in the low 20s.

Yeah I think that's how Paulcon arrive at his estimate, too - just by pulling figures out of thin air and throwing in a couple of million here are there.

Are there any further details on how these supply chain and production issues will affect this year's figures?
Have they been resolved or do they have potential to get worse?

Any reason why you're willing to bet on revenue somehow climbing from £10m to £24m?

Big unknowns are:
Will the China Resources deal will ever happen?
Will the breathalyser's development ever get any further than it was a year ago?
Are any paying customers interested in the skin health test?

This "Over promise and under deliver" approach is not paying off.
