Why would anyone agree to commit hundreds of millions of pounds before they've got a design finalized, projected costs and a start and end date set?

I'm sure that when they're in place, deals will be made and only then will we be told about it.

The drug didn't fail but at least one trial did in 2016. I'm not aware of any others.

No it's not. If there were any price-sensitive data they would have had to tell us in advance anyway.

So we can conclude it's either: 1) technical data that we've already had summed up for us, or 2) it was just a repeat of the exact same information but delivered in-person for the benefit of industry decision-makers. It's not even slightly strange.

Maybe the news is that their in-development covid drug is being presented at a flu conference? Covid isn't flu. So if they' re beginning to push this strongly as a broad-spectrum antiviral, that's price-sensitive information.

I realize it's news that we'd already inferred. But this is further confirmation of it, and it did affect this morning's price.

Your logic doesn't add up. You're saying that if Interferon-beta works against covid, that's the end of her life's work because she's been working with Interferon-alpha.

If you read and understood the information in the link I posted, you'd know that. I can't say it any clearer.

Now that a few months have passed, has there been any clear indication about why the price leapt from 2p up to 20p, then fell back to 5p? I'm sure better-than-expected earnings forecasts wouldn't account for a rise that sharp.

I vaguely remember reading one suggestion on here at the time. But I've hardly been on this board since then and I'm interested to hear other people's take on it before I put ideas into anyone's heads.

For anybody who's wondering, it took Synairgen around two months from the time the delta variant was seen in the UK to announce that in-vitro studies had shown the drug to be effective against that variant.

I had been hoping we'd get an RNS in a week or two to announce it works against Omicron. But it looks like that was a bit too optimistic, and probably explains why we're not yet seeing a Friday PM spike in share price.

It's literally a stone's throw from Velocys' proposed site.

There's a reason you have lots of refineries within one or two miles of each other. It's because there's a major fuel inlet there, which allows it to be piped across the UK and direct to the airports. I think it can only be a good thing that IAG wants to begin using SAF as soon as possible, since it signals their commitment to it.

But now there's demand for SAF and existing UK refineries can produce it, I think it goes to show that VLS' potential is in its new reactor, catalysts and processes. So we're relying on them being proven at commercial scale in order to attract funding and widespread adoption across the industry.

If we get an RNS in a week or two announcing successful in-vitro tests on the new variant, I think this is last we'll see of £2.
