Looking through Bidstats I found this tender notice for a new at scale testing of the general population in the UK ( 5 million people). According to the details Our Future Health are behind this notice and they are seeking companies to provide various services to enable this survey to take place, one of these being the development of a new high throughput genotyping assay to be used in the above. The object of the testing is to build up a picture of who is at risk of developing certain diseases as they grow older and help biotechs to develop new test's to screen for these.
Our Future Health appear to be a charitable organisation who are closely linked with the NHS and have just received funding from UK Research and Innovation. This survey gives a clear indication on where healthcare is going in this country with a clear emphasis on diagnostic testing to seek out and preempt the development of illnesses , instead of waiting till someone roles up in an ambulance at A&E.

From what I can see it's just travel testing. They also offer a reduced rate for NHS worker's who want to purchase a travel test.

B2HS2L, I was referring to the SNPsig range which are genotyping test's that are designed to look for a specific variant in a gene . Sequencing is far more involved and examines a sample for any new mutations or variant's and takes a lot longer.

Wilson63, in answer to your question about the PROmate kit's/test's they are different for each q device. The difference is that the q16 test's are supplied in a 16 way pre loaded circular magazine that fit's into the top of the q16 . The q32 test's are supplied in a 32 way pre loaded magazine to fit the q32 . Hope this helps.
