I don't know who saw my post regarding the Australian company who have partnered with Novacyt to sell the full range of

Novacyt have told us that they aim to move into three diagnostic areas ,antimicrobial resistant pathogens , sepsis and transplant testing. Hopefully wednesdays presentation will tell us much more about how they intend to go about this and the time scales that will be involved.

Finally Novacyt have previously developed assays for the american company Immunexpress who last year launched a rapid sepsis test . Globally nearly 50 million people are stricken by sepsis each year and sadly 11 million die.

These diagnostic areas are closely related and a rapid diagnosis is critical for patient care . Point of care testing will play part in this.

The Academy of Medical Sciences published a report ten day's ago detailing their concerns about the potential upsurge in seasonal viruses. In it they urged the government to roll out point of care testing for influenza, covid19 and RSV.

bakky, Novacyt are also in a separate NHS variant's of concern framework , along with three other companies for the supply of genotyping test's. No-one can find out who the other companies are.

This link gives some info on how the vaccine efficacy is waning in Israel . Their vaccination campaign saw people start receiving a second jab in January , around two month's ahead of the UK. What they are finding is the vaccines ability to stop you catching covid19 drops to 75% three month's after a second jab and down to 16% after 6 month's . They reiterate that it still protects you from serious illness. It looks like a booster dose every 6 month's for the older and vulnerable will be needed for the foreseeable future as covid19 is a year round problem in both the northern and southern hemispheres.

B2HS2L, registration on sam.gov was originally completed on 16/11/20. Someone posted a link on this board at the time and it was possible then to check the company registration detail's without having to sign in . To begin with Primer Design (Novacyt)were registered under the NAICS code 739777634 . This is the code for analytical laboratory instrument manufacturing .It is possible that what we are seeing has come about through a change of the registration detail's to include reagents as well. As you say they now have ruo SNPsig test's and I would be very surprised if they hadn't applied for EUA with the new 3 gene test.

I saw a post on this board the other day mentioning another Chinese company Acon Biotech who are now supplying the UK with rapid antigen test's. From what I can find out they are being supplied through a company called Medco Solutions ,who have just had the first part of the test contract published on Bidstats . Medco were only incorporated on the 26/3/20 and started out supplying face visor's.
There is also an DHSC case study promoting how well Medco are doing with the contract .Shame the DHSC can't do the same for the UK diagnostic companies that have been supporting them for the last 18 month's.

Presently Novacyt have told us that they are working on a test that detects covid19 through the if127 biomarker .This biomarker can indicate infection in the very early stages of a case and can also tell the levels of covid19 present. In recent year's it has been discovered that the if127 biomarker can also be targeted to show whether influenza or RSV is present in a patient. Could Novacyt be developing a multiplex serological test for covid19, influenza A , influenza B and RSV using this biomarker? Such a test would help hospitals to triage incoming patient's and monitor the levels of infection.
