For those that haven't seen it this is the section of last autumns contract that deal's security of supply.
22 / Security of supply
Upon the signing of this order form all reagent kit's will be available to the NHS. The supply of the further (blank) optional qpcr instrument's will follow upon the placing of a further order by the Authority. The Authority may place that order up to 8 week's after the date of this agreement, failing which the Supplier may release it's stock to other customers. The Supplier shall maintain the flexibility and scope within its manufacturing capacity to increasing demand across its full range of product's.
The Suppliers goods are manufactured in the UK and are available for supply secure from the impact of the risk's arising from the UK's exit from the EU or from US export restrictions.
The Supplier confirms that it is able to meet the Authority's current anticipated demand forecast of approximately ( blank) Exsig Direct per week for Phase 1 and further anticipated demand in the optional phase. The Supplier confirms that it is able to scale up manufacturing to provide greater volumes if requested.
It looks very much like Novacyt did what asked of them to guarantee supply under the term's of the contract.

According to press report's Biograd could be looking for a buyer.

I see Novacyt placed an advert yesterday for a temporary clinical performance manager at Stratford upon Avon yesterday.

Paidster , thanks for the reply .Just to add to your post , Novacyt said they were working on a new test method with freeze dried reagents in July 2020 at the same time they announced the care homes trial. Eight week's later on September 18th they applied to trademark the name PROmate just over a week before the NHS near patient contract started .The new product PROmate was launched with CE markings in mid November, but there was then a wait till early February for the MHRA to complete their validation and clear PROmate for use in the NHS. As you say PROmate is proving popular with end user's and highly accurate as well. I look forward to the same concept being applied to other respiratory disease test's.

Paidster, the weekly terms for ordering PROmate I got from the new contract.

Current PROmate is ordered weekly according to demand, so there will be no build up of stock with the NHS.

Is the PROmate 2 gene covid19 test currently being validated by the MHRA? If this is the case and validation is successful the PROmate 2 gene would most likely become the test of choice for the NHS instead of the one gene.

Interesting developments in the pharmaceutical world ,we know that Astra Zeneca finalised the buyout of the American company Alexion in July for 39 billion dollars. They specialise in developing drugs for rare diseases, which is a new area for AZ .Two weeks ago Astra Zeneca partnered with Thermofisher with the latter tasked with developing cdx test's to accompany future drugs that AZ aim to launch. Over the coming year's the market for cdx text's will grow substantial as they are used to identify if a certain drug is suitable for a patient or not. This could possiblybe another market that Novacyt targets along with respiratory , transplant and sepsis diseases.

Kaeren, from what I can see in the tender notice the are looking to source production equipment to speed up and improve efficiencies at the place of manufacture of the test's that are mentioned .A similar procurement operation went off late last year to source automated packaging and production machinery for lft manufacturers to be able to scale up. We all know what path they chose after that with all the Chinese test's. The question is which PCR and Lamp test producing companies are they meaning? I can't see it being the likes of Thermofisher , there again with this gov anything is possible.

Looks very much like the government is looking to try and help automate the production of PCR and Lamp test's .They also specifically mention the test's for the four variant's. They also go on to say this automation could help to support the production of a variety of different test in the future.

Kaeren, I did post a few weeks ago regarding Immunexpress but the post disappeared in what I think was a larger cull. Novacyt entered into a new assay development agreement with Immunexpress in April 2019. We don't know how long this was for ,or if it is still going .Last year Immunexpress obtained CE marking for it's rapid sepsis test and teamed up with the Belgium company Biocartis to use the test on their Idylla platform.
Normal testing methods take far too long , I did read that every hour waiting for test result's decreases a patient's chances of survival by 8% . It will be interesting to see how Novacyt go about entering this diagnostic market .

From what I can find out on the government website travel test's that have to be processed by a health care professional (PCR) are exempt from VAT. However test's where they are self administered with an immediate result ( LFT) are liable to VAT at the standard rate .
